Dana White Comments on Rumors of Brock Lesnar Returning to UFC

– There have been rumors in the MMA world of Brock Lesnar returning to UFC and that Lesnar will be attending Saturday’s UFC 168 event in Las Vegas.

During Thursday’s post-press conference media event, UFC president Dana White was asked if UFC would take the opportunity to talk business with Lesnar. He replied:

“I honestly don’t know. Honestly, I don’t know.”

Sources close to Lesnar told’s Ariel Helwani that they didn’t think Lesnar was very serious about returning.

Exactly. He didn’t like to get hit anywhere and wasn’t really used to it. It was kick to the mid-section from Overeem that ended his career basically. His stand up game was non-existent. I think he needed to spend more time developing a stand up game by fighting lesser opponents. He was thrust into the main event way too soon because of the marquee value of his name. Had he of gotten the opportunity to start off like everyone else did and build himself up he would have done much better. However, the illness still would have taken him out.

Lesnar is a bad bad man. He can grapple with the best of them. But anyone that watched him fight a decent striker knows he doesn’t like to get punched. Even if his health permitted it, I doubt he’d ever return to MMA.

The author of this article apparently forgot that Brock Lesnar has a 3-year contract with WWE and about Lesnar’s diverticulitis which forced him to retire. He’s going nowhere.

Why is it that whenever a WWE superstar attends a UFC event people automatically assume that they are going to try to join/rejoin MMA? Can’t a grown man just go watch the damned show and visit some friends? Sheesh.

Dude needs to make up his mind. He’s got a cake job with WWE, why walk away?
