Daniel Bryan announces US Title Tournament following Dolph Ziggler’s “departure”

Daniel Bryan opened SD Live with a video clip from the previous week, showing Dolph Ziggler’s title celebration. The showoff gloated in front of the WWE Universe, touting his accomplishments over the years. He would then go on to leave the ring, with the United States championship laying in the middle of the ring.

When we returned to the ring, Smackdown’s GM wished Ziggler luck in whatever his future held. He then declared that Smackdown Live would hold a US Title tournament to crown a new champion, with the first match being former US Champion Baron Corbin against the glorious Bobby Roode.

It looks like WWE plans on dragging out Ziggler’s story for a while, here. It’s probably for the best. I’d expect to see the former champion back in time for the crowning of the new one.
