After winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank last night, Dean Ambrose gave his first official interview as Champ to Tom Phillips, and he had the following to say:
“It’s a long night. That’s a long night. I had a lot of long nights, a whole lot of long nights. Through all the years, more miles traveled, more cars wrecked, sitting in the back of squad cars more times than I care to admit, a whole bunch of stuff that I can’t talk about on a PG show, more bruises, more breaks, more pain, more frustration than anybody can imagine that wears a tie, you know what I’m saying? But hey, we made it. And it’s not me, it’s not just me, it’s all the people who supported me along the way, who helped me along the way, who stuck with me. The people who stuck with me, helped me stay alive, this is there’s. This belongs to them. They know who they are and I say ‘thank you’ to them. Everybody else, everybody who wanted to write me off, well they can all kiss the champ’s ass, you know what I’m saying? We’re sitting pretty on top of the mountain tonight, boys! Oh man, I need a drink.”
Dean Ambrose wasn’t the only one happy with his first-ever world title victory, girlfriend Renee Young congratulated her man on Twitter:
So proud!! He makes one hell of a champ. Couldn’t be happier!!!
