(Updated) Dean Ambrose reportedly leaving WWE after WrestleMania

Update: Pwinsider has provided some further detail on the contract Ambrose was offered with WWE reportedly offering him a seven-figure deal for 5 years which he declined.

He is said to be free to ‘do what he wants’ as the former Champion doesn’t have a lavish lifestyle and he has made great money since his run with the company having joined in 2011.

Original: While Chris Jericho signing with AEW could have been a shock to many within WWE, it appears another star could be leaving the company very soon, which would probably be an even bigger blow for the company.

According to a new report from Pwtorch, former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose has given his notice to the company, and he is expected to finish up after the upcoming WrestleMania 35 event.

Ambrose’s contract is expiring this April, and while the company has offered him a pay raise with a new contract, Dean informed them this week that he is not interested in negotiating further.

Similar to reports related to other stars, it’s said that Dean Ambrose has been frustrated with his bookings for a while. A large part of his character has been portrayed as hokey and Dean reportedly “hates hokey sh–”.

The Shield Member is one of the biggest stars of the current roster and a frequent main eventer. So him leaving the company, especially in the current climate could be a big problem for WWE.

More details regarding the situation should come out soon and it’d be interesting to see how this development affects the former Intercontinental Champion’s on-screen character in upcoming weeks.
