Drew McIntyre compares challenging for a World Title to facing John Cena at WrestleMania

Since returning to the WWE, it’s been clear that the Scottish Psychopath has been one of the company’s next big stars. Drew McIntyre quickly captured the NXT Championship, and since showing up on the main roster, has rarely lost a match, picking up wins against Raw’s top stars.

Now, three days away from the Royal Rumble, the former Chosen One is looking to challenge for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. However, there’s one other match he could have that might have a similar feel.

In an interview with Wrestling Inc., the former Intercontinental Champion said that facing John Cena at WrestleMania is as big of a moment as challenging for a world title.

The goal is win the Royal Rumble and go to WrestleMania for the championship. But I might consider having a match with John Cena at WrestleMania just as big, because as was mentioned earlier, he might not have too many left and I do believe he is the greatest superstar of all time. So that would be the biggest notch in my belt if that was to go through.
