New York, NY, January 25, 2011 — Spike TV’s telecast of “UFC® Fight For The Troops 2” from Fort Hood, Texas on Saturday, January 22 peaked at 2.5 million viewers. This special live UFC fight card, which was highlighted by tremendous performances by lightweight Melvin Guillard and heavyweight Matt Mitrione, raised funds for the brave men and women in the United States Armed Forces with traumatic brain injuries.

“We are honored to have partnered with the UFC and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund for this special event saluting America’s real heroes,” stated Kevin Kay, president Spike TV.

“With our two Fight for the Troops events, we’ve raised over $8.5 million for soldiers dealing with traumatic brain injury, burns and amputations,” UFC President Dana White said. “We’ve created worldwide awareness for traumatic brain injury through our support of the troops.”

Overall, the fight card drew a 1.3 household rating, a 1.6 rating in Men 18-49, a 1.5 in Men 18-34 and 1.8 million total viewers, peaking at 10:15pm with 2.5 million viewers. The Spike telecast ranked number 2 in Men 18-34 and Men 18-49 in cable in the timeslot. “UFC Fight For The Troops 2” drew 18 percent more viewers than the “UFC Fight Night” average for 2010.

Saturday’s event benefited the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF), which provides assistance to our nation’s military heroes who have been critically injured in the performance of their duty, and their families. The first Fight for the Troops event took place in December 2008 in Fayetteville, N.C and raised over $4 million dollars for the IFHF.
