– WWE held their final live event at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey tonight. The legendary venue will be shuttered before the end of March.
WWE aired a video package tonight with Ron Simmons, The New Age Outlaws, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash talking about some of their history with the arena. It was said to be very well done. The final match at the IZOD Center saw John Cena defeat Seth Rollins in a steel cage. Reader Benny Sherman sent word that after the match, Cena posed on top of the cage, greeted fans at ringside and went to the stage to cut a “goodbye promo” to the IZOD Center.
Below are some comments from Cena, Natalya and Bad News Barrett earlier today:
For the last time tonight, #WWELive performs at the @IzodCenter. Thank you to the fans that made each event here one of a kind. #NeverGiveUp

WWE's last ever show at the @IZODCenter tonight. Beat Miz for the IC-Title there on the Raw after Wrestlemania in 2013. One of my faves.

“Awesome sunset over the IZOD Center for our final ever show there tonight. #WWEEastRutherford”
“Oh IZOD Center! We will miss you… This is where @heelziggler won the World Title and where @zryder85 watched #KingOfTheRing in 2001! @wwe”
