Finn Balor received one of the biggest pops last night, as he made a surprise appearance at NXT TakeOver: Blackpool. He competed in a match against Jordan Devlin and it was a match between teacher and student. It turned out to be an excellent match, with Balor getting the win. Balor showed an intensity we had not seen in him in a long time.
On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted how great it seeing Balor wrestle at Blackpool. While he also noted that Balor is in line for a big push, it is doubtful we will ever see Balor as intense as he was yesterday.
“He’s gonna get a big push because there are things in the works for Finn Balor, but I don’t think he’ll ever be that Finn Balor again on the main roster. I could be wrong, but he was a totally different guy last night. It was awesome.”
Hopefully, Alvarez is incorrect in this case and we get to see this Balor once again. After all, he has been misused for the majority of last year, so it would be great to see Balor getting the push that he deserves. It is already known that Vince was watching TakeOver: Blackpool after all. So perhaps things will be better for him now.
