Finn Balor reveals WWE was against LGBTQ Wrestlemania entrance

WWE Superstar Finn Balor recently spoke with “Inside The Ropes“. During the interview, he talked about his entrance at Wrestlemania 34 where he was joined by members of the LGBTQ community in New Orleans. Finn revealed that apparently, WWE did not want to do the entrance and that he had to go back and ask WWE numerous times before they finally allowed him to do it.

Here is what Finn had to say regarding his Wrestlemania 34 entrance:

That was something I honestly believed in for a very long time and I had pitched, and pitched, and pitched to a lot of different departments in WWE and it had been shot down, and shot down, and shot down, and it wasn’t until Stephanie [McMahon] got wind of the idea that it all started to fall in to place. It’s easier for a message to come down the line of command than it is to go up the line of command.”

It was a very special moment for Finn Balor and for his fans as well. So thankfully, the entrance was done in the end.

  • KillswitchTheBiitch

I’m killswitch the bitch. I decide what opinions you can have! I am all the matters! Hate anyone who doesn’t agree with me and you may stay. I am very important and tolerant.

  • Soulshroude

My foot is someones *ss is a better and entirely different approach and more re-constructive, than an argument. Too bad no one has the actual b*ll’s to justify their attitudes, publicly anymore.

  • Soulshroude

I don’t disagree… but. There is always a but.. (no pun intended)… they will always call upon “extra’s” to represent a sub-culture, even if those people aren’t even gay. “Say hello to the Camera…” that’s the way it came off. You’d be surprised at how many people fall for the camera call and a bit of cash just to show boat as if they were “gay”, even if contrary to what is presented.

Which was my point about the “older gay guys”. You wouldn’t see lesbians on camera in NOLA… only older butch, and grizzly gays. The older grizzly gays make up the Quarter. Which is why I called out the WWE and FInn in my original post.

If anything, Chris Owens, Karl Nivale and a few other “Quarter Tranny’s” would have been perfect for that spot, but no… it had to be young looking female’s. Why? Because the “women’s revolution” couldn’t be without “middle aged lesbo chicks”. It’s simple WWE politics.

  • Keith Learmonth

I don’t doubt you that they make up a large part of the community. Not at all. I just don’t think it’s impossible for WWE to have found 20 LGBT+ people from different backgrounds in NOLA.

  • Keith Learmonth

So… because Trump pays Vince’s wife, WWE should stop putting political messages in the product? Should stop doing what it’s always done?

Trump is an idiot, I’ll grant you that, but if he expects his friends to all become suddenly apolitical because he’s in office now, he’s a bigger idiot than I could’ve ever imagined.

  • Darrin Tyler

not a surprise, wwe is owned by a republican.

  • Killswitch

We’re all passionate about pro wrestling, and that passion can lead to being assertive to our opinions. It’s a shame it can lead to abuse toward others, but it is what it is, we’re all on the internet.

  • Kristopher Robinson

I apologize for my language as well

  • Kristopher Robinson

Thank you very much! I seriously dont understand the necessity of trolling a wrestling page or not being able to state your opinion, without hate or discrimination.

  • Killswitch

Just a reminder, flagging deals with these trolls faster than an entire page of fruitless arguments. Thanks to everyone who handled the users in question in a constructive manner.

  • Killswitch

Done. I usually handle flagged comments pretty quickly. It’s harder to moderate older threads, though.

  • Everythingyouhate

All I see here is you claim it is unnatural yet for centuries pedophilia was normal since they married young girls at the age that they started there minstrel cycle to older men. Don’t sit here and try to justify morals when you, your self followed that same belief in the “good book” as all is right. So get off your high horse like you’re some gods gift to the world when you are the problem. So if people supporting gays and lesbians effects you as a person and your well being of life then justify it other wise shut the hell up and get back to life virgin. Show respect to get respect and there is none here for you this day but try to justify how people being gay or lesbian effects you personally. It’s ok I’ll wait……

  • Mike the Ike

You’re nothing but a worthless fuuck. Your existence is completely without ANY value.

  • Mike the Ike

You’re a coward Darryll. The word means fears and I trust Websters over whatever hole you pulled your desired definition out of. You are nothing but a worthless puppet.

  • Dirt McGirt

And you just proved you have no right to your wrong opinion. No one wants you here and damn sure no one asked for your worthless opinion.

  • PrettyfnDangerous

Phobia is medically used to describe extreme fear or aversion (which means severe dislike or disinclination) thus it is being used accurately. We watch sweaty burly men in tights wrestle every week but we draw the line at some rainbow colors?

  • Nicholas Giambattista

Yes but WWE has stay away from today politics because Vince Machan and Donald Trump have always been good friends and Vince wife works for Trump. Which is why Vince Mac has let his company distance his product from politics.

  • PrettyfnDangerous

No lie there. A simple search of the topic in general would show ridiculous amounts of research outright contradicting these clowns easy peasy. I’ll believe thousands of professionals over these children any day.

  • Soulshroude

Sure… I don’t mind a curb stomp at least once per week. Fresh Blood on my hands, makes me smile.

  • Soulshroude

It’s actually pretty damned true. There are only a few younger gays and not so many lezbos. The Corner Pocket is full of trannies, the OZ, Lafittes in Exile, all mid-to-older Grizzly Bears. Even the 700 Club, Good Friends and Queens Head are Grizzly Bars.

  • Mike the Ike

The word phobia means fear. I’m not afraid of gays. I want ALL political views to remain hidden. This is not a political forum and people’s views on political matters are no one’s business. See, because you opened your mouth, I now know how stupid you are and have zero respect for you. As for shouting down people who don’t agree with me, the left is FAR more guilty of that than ANYONE on the Right. Those who preach tolerance the loudest are always the most intolerant. It’s always you have to agree with us and use the words we want or you don’t get to be in the club.

  • Mike the Ike

I’m not English, you ignorant asshoole. Why don’t you go away? You only ever cause problems when you’re here.

  • Mike the Ike

Wrong. Snowflakes by definition can only come from the worthless fuucks on the left whose feelings get hurt when they are exposed to real facts as opposed to their desired facts or feelings. You make this planet a worse place.

  • Dirt McGirt

Guess what biitch, no on asked for your wrong opinion, so why don’t you go crawl back up your momma’s ass? Stupid jersey trash.

  • Shut up.

You must be looking in a mirror boy, because I am anything but down syndrome. You on the other hand, I’m surprised you haven’t choked to death on your own tongue, which would make the world a better place.

  • Kristopher Robinson

It amazes me how retarded you are.

  • AKPunk91

    Good lord. You’re ignorant.

  • Dirt McGirt

You are aware that homosexuality can not reproduce? You are aware that people have the ability to make reasonable decisions, unlike animals? And you’re stupid if you think that’s what homophobia means. No one hear is saying they are afraid of gays. Words means something and the suffix phobia means fear, no matter what meaning you might want to attach to the word.

  • Dirt McGirt

The fact he wore the rainbow made it wrong. If he wants to be pro-gay, he needs to keep that to himself. Cass got fired for vocalizing his support of Trump, this is no different. In fact, what Balor did was worse because he did it in front of an audience.

  • Keith Learmonth

Then argue the point. Out debate us. Show us how your views aren’t homophobic when you want any pro-LGBT stance to remain utterly hidden. Aren’t you people meant to be all about free speech?

Or does free speech suddenly mean nothing if you don’t agree with it?

  • Keith Learmonth

Getting so upset over comments on the internet that you tell people to F off and die means you permanently rescind your right to call anyone a snowflake again.

  • Keith Learmonth

You didn’t have to say anything. You made your stance very clear. When you have to add “And I’m not homophobic, but I don’t like seeing anything that ever supports the gays”, which was the crux of your initial comment, it makes it easy to imply what you meant. Especially when you got super defensive about any criticism before it was even offered.

That’s the great thing about english. Subtext is easy to spot. And your further use of terms like “libtard”, and using “butt buddy” to describe people who agree on a point just reinforces the perception of the subtext.

  • Keith Learmonth

I’m not from NOLA, but insisting that the entire community consists of one group of people is insane.

  • Keith Learmonth

WWE has always had politics. Hogan vs Sheik? It was always about “US vs Foreigners!”. Hogan vs Slaughter? It was all about the gulf war. Lex Luger’s ultra patriotic gimmick, the hart foundation’s anti-america stance, the unamericans, la resistance, Muhammed Hassan, Cesaro/Jack Swagger/Zeb Colter, Rusev vs Cena, that one time Rusev was suddenly russian because Russia was a political talking point at the time… hell, there’s even been things like Billy and Chuck, Dawn Marie/Torrie, Mickie James/Trish Stratus, Big Vito, etc…

There has always been politics in wrestling, and even sexual identity politics are nothing new, so I’m not sure what you’ve been watching.

  • Keith Learmonth

Who rammed anything down anyone’s throats? He wore a rainbow, and had some people on stage with him, and said “Balor Club is for Everyone”. It’s not like he’s a national legislator trying to push for religious protection laws to allow open discrimination to try to shame people into hiding how they live, or something.

  • Keith Learmonth

You’re aware that homosexuality is exhibitied in dozens of species, right? The only species that actively tries to deny it even when showing signs of it is humanity… so really, homophobia is unnatural.

  • Shut up.

No one asked Finn about his politics, yet he decided to run them down our throats. He started this. You unhappy with someone? Talk to him.

  • Kristopher Robinson

Wrestline-Edge, can you please permanently ban the idiots that are making these horrible remarks about LGBTQ? Like, I dont know, do your fucking jobs as admins on this site?!

  • Mike the Ike

You don’t get to accuse me of shiit, boy. So get the fuuck out of here with that stalker shiit. I am calling you what you are, shiit. My argument is anything but inconsistent, but I guess libtards like you aren’t smart enough to be able to properly argue a point. You jut stand on your self righteousness and shout down anyone who opposes your moral-less global agenda.

  • Dirt McGirt

I don’t need to be asked for my opinion. Fools like you need to ask if their opinion is wanted. So you’re saying you’re a stupid animal? Boy are you ever an ignorant fuuck. And if you think that Christians believe in a sky wizard, you only prove what a hateful ignorant piece of trash you are. What science? You have NOTHING to stand on. I won’t tell you again to leave.

  • Dirt McGirt

Unnatural and wrong because of what you see in nature, if you don’t have morals. There is NOTHING natural about homosexuality, it’s why two men can’t reproduce, you ignorant pile of trash. And I am FAR from homophobic. I don’t walk don’t a dark alley afraid that a bunch of gays are going to make catty comments about my dress or worry they are going to break into my house and redecorate. As for my opinion, I don’t need to be asked for it. You have ZERO right to your wrong beliefs and I guarantee you that Andrea has no respect for you. Go back to your sandbox, boy. You aren’t welcomed here.

  • Darryll Morris

Unnatural and wrong according to what? That fairytale book I mentioned previously? Because homosexuality is pretty natural. It is seen in several different animals in nature, lol. And nobody asked for your opinion either, bub. Yet you were more than happy to give it. Also you’re pretty aggressive to a guy who hasn’t been rude to you yet, eh? When all else fails, resort to name calling.

There is a plethora of studies, doctors, and science out there that support what I have said. But by all means, continue to live in fantasy land. Do you also believe the universe was created by a sky wizard? Flat earth, maybe?

  • Mike the Ike

    You’re nothing but a biitch.

  • Mike the Ike

Come say that to my face, tough guy. I don’t sweat you behind a keyboard or in person.

  • Mike the Ike

It means F Off And Die.

  • Soulshroude

Chummer.. they’re all snowflakes, don’t you know? Complaining about everything and not having the balls to deal with anything face to face.

  • Mike the Ike

FOAD you worthless gene trash. You’re sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong. I didn’t say ANYTHING about my stance on the matter, just that Finn needs to be more professional. It was your butt buddy keith that started running his mouth that brought things to this point. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that someone so stupid would come from Ocala. Go away and don’t come back. We did just fine here before you started running your mouth and we’ll be just fine when you’re gone.

  • Soulshroude

Name Calling only establishes one thing… What only resorts to insults through the internet. Never man to man. You are a “trolling” keyboard warrior.

  • Soulshroude

Your’re clearly not from NOLA. More than 85A% of the Quarter residents are Older Gay Guys who most would call Grizzly Bears. It makes perfect sense. Try visiting during “Southern Decadence.”

  • Soulshroude

The f8CK is a “FOAD”? I don’t speak text, gibberish, drunken cursive.

  • Dirt McGirt

Because it’s unnatural and wrong. Just because you’re clearly a liberal douche bag doesn’t mean you’re right about ANYTHING. But I guess you just want to prove how stupid and self important you are by running your mouth when no one asked for your worthless and wrong opinion.

  • Darryll Morris

And yet here you are, not keeping your view about his view to yourself. Ironic, lol.

  • Nicholas Giambattista

WWE needs to stay away from politics it the only place I can watch the show without the politics.

  • Darryll Morris

“What thoughts to entertain” lol. Uh, yeah. If I am attracted to someone, why should I try to repress those thoughts? Because last I checked you don’t choose what foods you like, or what traits attract you, you either find it appealing or you dont. Is it a choice to act on your urges? Sure. However it’s not a choice to have them, I don’t remember ever sitting down and being like “Oh, you know what? I’m gonna be sexually attracted to women from now on.” Doesn’t work that way. And I wouldn’t deny who I am or what makes me happy if it is perfectly legal and between two consenting adults.

  • Dirt McGirt

What part of you CHOOSE what thoughts you entertain did you not understand? Or do you just ignore the facts you don’t like?

  • Darryll Morris

Yet you do not CHOOSE the foods you like or dislike or what you are attracted to. Unless you are saying you could choose to honestly be attracted to a man.

And of course they would act on it. I”d never stay miserable and try to pretend I was something that I was not just to please society or some fairy tale book that says it is bad, lmao.

  • Dirt McGirt

Yep. And for those who don’t think it’s a choice, guess what, it is. You CHOOSE whether you eat toast or cereal for breakfast. You CHOOSE what you wear. You CHOOSE to pursue romantic relationships with men or women. You CHOOSE what thoughts to entertain.

  • Mike the Ike

Sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong only proves you’re a piece of crap, too. I gave the only argument that needs to be made: he needs to keep his views to himself. ’nuff said.

  • Name calling has always been known as being a constructive argument.

  • Dakota

I thought the entrance was foolish too. Has nothing to do with wrestling, and shouldn’t have been done. Stinks Stephanie is ok with allowing that. Its a sinful life style.

  • Mike the Ike

    FOAD

  • Mike the Ike

You’re a piece of crap. His business means he keeps it to himself instead of shoving it down our throats. You’re trash and so is the moron who liked your asinine comment.

  • Keith Learmonth

His politics -are- his business, and that’s why he did this, and didn’t ask -you- for permission, though. The fact it bothers you in any way kind of makes you sound like the snowflake, you know?

  • Keith Learmonth

Yes, clearly, New Orleans only has a single community of LGBT+ people and they’re all the same age demographic. That makes sense.

  • Mike the Ike

What a stupid entrance it was. His politics are his business, not mine. And no, this isn’t some anti-gay rant, before all you snowflakes start melting. Wrestlemania is the biggest stage and the one time of the year he could have gotten pyro or some really cool smoke entrance and instead he wasted it on a bunch of nobodies in matching shirts.

  • Armitage Soulshroude

First off, Balor “bitched, bitched and bitched”. Second, the ladies with the lgbtq logo on their shirts were simply extras. Those who actually LIVE in NOLA, know full well that the actual community derives of Old Gay Guys. So that entrance was bullsh*t. Period. Third? Balor needs to come out of the closet already and tell the world that he’s secretly in love with Cedric Alexander.
