After the UFC released Ben Saunders following his back-to-back losses, the former Ultimate Fighter star finally got himself back on track with a win over Elijah Harshbarger this past weekend.
The World Extreme Fighting promotion hosted a bout between Saunders and Harshbarger that resulted in a Saunders win after he annihilated Harshbarger in the first round with strikes, according to a live report from freelance MMA journalist Stephen Bryant.
Harshbarger’s only offense in the fight were a couple of takedown attempts. Clearly Saunders has been working on his wrestling in training prior to the fight as Harshbarger was not successful in getting Saunders to the ground.
With the win over Harshbarger, Saunders’ career record now stands at 9-3-2. If Saunders keeps up his hard training and winning-ways he will be looking at a possible return to the biggest promotion in North America — the UFC. Time will tell.
