Former WCW Commentator criticises Kenny Omega vs. Cody Rhodes match

NJPW held their G1 special event last night which saw the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega defending his title against fellow Bullet Club member Cody Rhodes.

The match was filled with several impressive but dangerous moves and one of the most talked about spot was when Omega threw Cody out of the ring into a table.

Unfortunately, the table didn’t break and the former WWE Star hit his head hard onto the floor, which is believed to be one of the reasons why the former ROH World Champion has announced that he will be taking time off from wrestling.

This wasn’t the only dangerous spot of the match or the night and after the event, the former WCW Commentator Gary Michael Cappetta commented on the tough style of wrestling in the promotion, saying that people should stop shortening their careers:

“WRESTLER ALERT: Human bodies aren’t made to do this, Please stop shortening your valuable careers. Stop limiting the health and happiness of your post wrestling lives.”
