Former World Champion done with GFW

Per the reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former TNA and GFW World Heavyweight Champion Magnus is no longer with the company after turning down the new contract offered to him.

While Magnus did work the latest TNA tapings, it was said to be under a handshake deal so the company could “protect the lineage of the GFW title,” which Magnus was holding at the time.

The Observer also reports that the new contracts being offered by Anthem Sports include a clause that the wrestlers have to give 10% of the money earned through indie bookings to the company.

Magnus started working for TNA back in November 2008 and ended his stint with the company after an appearance the July 29th episode of Impact Wrestling back in 2015.

After leaving TNA, he signed a contract with Global Force Wrestling where he became the first GFW World Champion. He returned to Impact back in April this year when both the companies merged.

After a short feud, Magnus then dropped the World title to Alberto Del Rio who later unified the GFW and Impact World Titles by defeating Lashley.
