Ring of Honor issued the following:
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST is back for 2015! The Ring of Honor tradition returns November 13th in Milwaukee, WI and November 14th in Hopkins, MI. SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST is one of the most grueling tournaments in all of professional wrestling, where the winner has to endure two nights of competition against the top ROH stars. The prize? A future ROH World Championship opportunity!
Past winners of this prestigious tournament include Delirious, Roderick Strong, “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin, Adam Cole, and current ROH World and Television Champion Jay Lethal. This year, the SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST field will be comprised of 18 of the biggest stars in Ring of Honor. On November 13th in Milwaukee, the first round of matches will consist of:
– Two 4-Corner Survival Matches
– Two Triple Threat Matches
– Two Singles Matches
One winner from each match in Milwaukee will advance to the SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 6-Man Elimination Match the following night on November 14th in Hopkins! Additionally, the final match in the Best of Five challenge series between Matt Sydal and ACH will also serve as a qualifying match for SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST.
And now, the entrants have been announced for the first ever 4 Corner Survival qualifier!
4 CORNER SURVIVAL
MARK BRISCOE VS. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS VS. HANSON VS. KENNY KING
This one-fall-to-a-finish four corner contest is comprised of ROH stars who are often thought of as tag team specialists, but on November 13th, they go it alone against 3 other athletes who each want in on this prestigious tournament!
MARK BRISCOE is a crazy man; there’s no disputing that. Over the years, his penchant for putting his body on the line to get a win has only gotten stronger! But unlike his brother, Mark Briscoe has never held singles gold in ROH. A win at SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST could be a critical step on the path to cementing his own Ring of Honor legacy!
A ROH legend in his own right, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS has most recently found success alongside his Addiction partner, Frankie Kazarian. They just recently lost the ROH World Tag Team Championships and are on the hunt to regain them. Yet, ROH fans know Christopher Daniels has an extensive resume as a singles competitor, including a reign as ROH World Television Champion. Can a victory in this qualifier put him on the road to the Triple Crown?
HANSON was the breakout star or last year’s SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST tournament. In the opening round, he defeated none other than the current ROH World and Television Champion, Jay Lethal! Then he very nearly went all the way in the final round, making it as far as the last two competitors alongside eventual winner, Adam Cole. After that incredible run, Hanson is surely one of the favorites in this year’s field, but that also puts a target on his (massive) back!
KENNY KING is back in Ring of Honor! King made his absolutely shocking return to ROH last month at ALL STAR EXTRVAGANZA VII and he has been on fire ever since! The reunion of ANX has shaken up the tag team scene, with Rhett Titus and Kenny King determined to make an impact. But King won’t have Titus in his corner on November 13th! This could be King’s breakout opportunity to prove he’s a threat to ALL champions and athletes in ROH – and that he’s here to stay!
