Four Main-Card Bouts Set For “Strikeforce: Columbus” On March 5th

The Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio (in conjunction with the Arnold Sports Festival) will hold the long-rumored Strikeforce event on Saturday, March 5th, which will be the first event held in Ohio by the promotion.

Four fights are official for the card, including a pair of championship five-round bouts in the men’s and women’s divisions. They all air as part of the night’s Showtime broadcast.

The headliners include light-heavyweight champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante vs. Dan Henderson and women’s welterweight champion Marloes Coenen vs. Meisha Tate. Also slated for the card are lightweights Billy Evangelista vs. Jorge Masvidal and middleweights Tim Kennedy vs. Luke Rockhold.

Strikeforce has yet to hold an event in Ohio, though the company has visited Florida, Texas, Oregon, Mississippi, and Tennessee for the first time in the promotion’s history in 2010. Ohio regulates more shows per year than any other U.S. athletic commission.

The Arnold Sports Festival is three-day sports and fitness exhibition that draws tens of thousands of attendees.
