Frankie Edgar Injured Out Of UFC 130 Main Event

As announced just moments ago by UFC president Dana White, UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar has been removed from the UFC 130 main event title fight against Gray Maynard.

The announcement comes via the media conference call currently taking place at this moment.

While little details were given, it appears as if both Edgar and Maynard have suffered training injuries and as a result the Rampage Jackson vs. Matt Hamill bout has been moved to the main event slot.

Edgar was forced to withdraw with a back and rib injury and Maynard with a Knee injury.

Dana White confirmed that both fighters will be out of action for 6-8 weeks and hopes to re-schedule the bout for August or September.
