In her first free interview since parting ways with WWE, Gail Kim told SunSport that she has no plans on returning to the sports entertainment empire.

“I’ve experienced WWE twice now, and I know that I do not enjoy that place,” she says. “The second time I really had optimistic hopes and dreams, but I know I would never go back there.”

Kim informed WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis that she was quitting the company ten minutes before the infamous battle royal in which she eliminated herself from the match.

“It was a very controversial thing,” she said. “A lot of people said that they lost respect for me because I was unprofessional. But unless anyone walks in your shoes they do not what you feel.

“I can admit that maybe it was a childish thing to do. But I would not take it back. I was disrespected many times by the company, and when you get disrespected that many times there is only so much you can take.

“I’m not one to just lay there and take it – at least not now – and they didn’t even notice.

“I was fed up that day.”

Now that she is free, many people believe Kim will return TNA Wrestling, where she achieved her greatest success. She feels that it is likely, but she is in no rush.

“Right now I’m on a little hiatus,” Kim said, “I told myself I’d take a little break. They didn’t let me quit so I was forced to take a break!

“I’m not retiring from wrestling, I can say that. I always said – I said it in my last interview with TNA on a Knockout’s DVD – that I always felt like I would return there one day. I’d love to finish up my career there.”

@devil rising, she was making a paycheck in a crappy economy, how many out of work people are not. We do not listen to their bytching, so why do not want to listen to hers. This is like the third twitter from her. She knew what it was like before she came back. Boo Hoo. I was not dogging on her talent.

Would you like some cheese with that whine Gail? Try working a real job and see how you feel. I’ve been in the same situation as Gail, but had to stick it out, why? Because not everybody has the luxury of being able to quit their jobs and go elsewhere in this economy. A friend of mine used to know Gail when she was still in Toronto, and she was a whiny bitch even back then. Always thinking she was better than Trish, Christian and Edge because she actually came from Toronto. Ya well funny how her ass got booed out of the building last February when SD was in Toronto.

While I can respect she wanted to be appreciated when she went to work, and while I respect standing up for yourself, she’s obviously not as smart as she claims to be. She couldn’t understand why they kept bringing up she had a contract. Um its a legally binding document, you don’t just get to quit like any normal position…Ya think somebody whose wrestled a while would at least know what they signed. She’s been whining for months…Its gotten really old, so I’m glad she’s gone. I do have to say I’ll find it extremely funny if TNA turns her down and says they don’t really want her…then what Gail???

@ people dissing her, what do you honestly expect her to do? Stay on the roster, continue to not even be on TV, be misused, watch talentless bitches like Eve and Kelly Kelly and the Bellas get pushed over her, and just sit and be happy that she’s collecting a pay check?

Wrestling is a business based on individual performance. You want to be out there in the spotlight, showing your talent. You can’t do that if they never use you. That would be like being a third stringer on a football team, who’s rarely ever active, never really plays, but he’s glad to be “on the team”. Pretty stupid concept, if you ask me. If you’re a football player, you want to PLAY. If you’re a wrestler, you want to WRESTLE, in front of a meaningful audience. There’s no point being in the WWE, if you’re just sitting on the sidelines.

WWE wasted Gail Kim, a very good talent. A REAL wrestler. Face it. Kelly Kelly doesn’t deserve her spot, they use her because she’s a former model and a pretty face.

I like Gail Kim, but she needs to shut the fuck up and stop acting like a baby. She was childish and unprofessional for eliminating herself, and the whole way she has dealt with this leaving WWE has just made her look bad.
People know WWE are no angels, but if she had left in a more mature professional manner, more people would actually be supporting and defending her without a doubt.
Its like Matt Hardy all over again. Nobody blamed Matt for being unhappy with WWE and how he was treated, but what pissed people off was the way he went about it and, like Kim, has continued to annoy people.

  • Freakzilla

Good on you Gail. At least someone has the fortitude to come and out and tell it like it is instead of sucking up to WWE. Fact is they wreck more careers then they make with lame ass gimmicks. WWE has always been about living cartoon characters and caricatures even in the Attitude era.

I remember when she jumped to the WWE. My friend and I were both pretty happy that the WWE was finally going to step up its game by hiring one of the best in-ring performers out there. And then nothing happened.

My guess is that they told her she was going to get a major push, and eventually the title. It was naive, sure, but I can’t blame her for following her dream, even if it didn’t pan out.

Gail Kim is good enough that she can find work, even if TNA closed down tomorrow. The best female performers are in the indies, anyway. I’d love to see her in some future SHIMMER events. And then there is Japan, where Serena got over pretty big by being pushed as a former Diva.

At least now people will get to see her perform.

As far as Gail Kim “whining” about the WWE, that would be an argument if this were Twitter or something, but this is an interview where she was asked specific questions. She can’t be blamed for being honest.

  • Dick Coxafloppin

If Gail Kim can live with her decision to walk out….good for her. If you’ve ever worked at a place that shit on you, you know how she felt. Question is did you have the balls to walk out?

I think even if TNA were to close their doors todaY, there are enough venues for her to make the same money they pay. If not, then invest what you have wisely and learn to live off what you got. I’m sure she has made a lot more than most average americans.

  • Centerman

Gail Kim needs to do what’s best for Gail Kim. The WWE with their horrible BS Diva devision definitely wasn’t it.

  • simon07

In all fairness i didn’t even see her eliminate herself. She’s a good wrestler but eliminating yourself is so unprofessional, i assume she didn’t except her pay for that week?
She only really went back to wwe for money, otherwise she would have stayed in tna where she was the face of the knockout division or whatever its called.
It was hardly surprising she didn’t get pushed by wwe after all they only signed her because she was one of the most popular women in tna.

  • venom

Okay, Gail we get it. You’re not going back. It’s getting annoying on how bad she is crying over this. Eliminating her self was pretty unprofessional. Looks like her career is going to end soon, but I don’t know how much longer TNA is going to be around.

  • Justin Sane

WWE doesn’t care about women wrestlers unless they’re blonde and or can’t wrestle for shit.
TNA doesn’t pay they’re knockouts anything but like a quarter an appearance.
So it’s pretty much a lose/lose for women wrestlers looking to go far in the industry. So sad…

  • mark

Yes WWE misused her, should have put a title on her. Another fuck up from WWE to add to the list of misused wrestlers. WWE does seem like a real shit place to work!!! The trouble is TNA does not seem that much better.

  • Assassino

does anybody know the definition of a ‘diva’? cause it sure as hell doesn’t have anything to do with wrestling, so people they are eye candy not wrestlers. which i love cause they are hot. :)

  • drizzt

I think Kim is a good wrestler, but enough of the whining. We all know the WWE does not value talent in the divas division. There are so many young talents who would have been happy to be part of the roster.
