GFW stars rip on 205 Live, calls it garbage, X-Division influenced the show

205 Live is on every Tuesday Night after SmackDown Live but it has mixed reviews at best. Some people used to watch WWE’s Cruiserweight show but some of that popularity has dwindled since the show’s inception. It really is a shame though because those guys work so hard for such minimum credit.

GFW Star Trevor Lee recently spoke to WrestlingInc where he gave a very unfiltered opinion about WWE’s Tuesday night program.

“You wanna know what 205 Live is?” Trevor Lee asked. “It’s garbage! I’m 225-pounds and I’m the X-Division Champion. None of those guys could even hold a dime to what I can do. Get out of here, next question.”

Low Ki also decided to speak his mind on the subject matter. In his observation, Low Ki said he saw a heavy influence from the X-Division on 205 Live and said that’s the identity WWE is trying to create with the Cruiserweight exclusive program.

“With all respect to the current X-division and the members of 205 Live, the X-division has carried heavy influence in what you see currently on television in all major companies. And there’s a reason for it. It wasn’t based off of size, it was based off of style. And in order to get noticed, styles is what makes matches. Many of the performers you see in 205 Live — I shouldn’t say many because there’s more there now than there were at the beginning – but there’s a handful of them who were former X-Division wrestlers. So the identity 205 is trying to create for them, has a heavy influence of X-Division written all over it so there’s no comparison. The X-Division is a unique identity.”

Just like any artform or entertainment option, 205 Live is going to have some people for it against it. While some of those comments might be best taken with a little grain of salt they also might speak more truth than WWE would ever like to admit.
