On slipping on RAW:
“I don’t care man, with social media everyone sees that stuff. Here’s the thing, its been 12 years bro. It’s literally the second time I’ve stepped inside the ring, it’s no excuse, it happens and it is what it is. At the end of the day it made it look like more of a real fight and all you guys out there on social media you can kiss my butt, because there’s nothing you can say to make me feel any worse than I’m making myself feel.”
On his match with Lesnar being a one time thing:
“It’s a one time thing man, it’s a one time thing. I treat everything at face value, I have a single match contract with the WWE and maybe it leads to something down the road, maybe it leads to an opportunity down the road, but at the end of the day November 21st I’m a free man. After I kick Brock’s ass I’ll be happier than hell.”
On who he wants at Wrestlemania:
“I don’t look past the 20th of this month.”
On how much higher in shape he has to be in for a WWE fight than an MMA fight:
“It’s not higher, it’s a completely different type of shape. Ring shape is something you can emulate — duplicate elsewhere. So even though I’ve been sparing, muay thai kickboxing, even though I’ve been doing footwork boxing, for round upon round upon round — hey man that 10, 15 minute, whatever it is length of time in the wrestling ring, there are things you have to get re-acquainted with. And my second time back in the ring man, my knees are killing me just walking around on that stuff, because it’s unfamiliar to you. That’s all, it’s not because I’m crippled. It’s just because it’s a different feeling, and I just have to re-acquaint myself with it, man.”
On positives and negatives of returning against Lesnar:
“I’ve been fortunate enough to be given opportunities whether it be playing at the University of Georgia, whether it be playing in the NFL, whether it be cast upon as an opponent for Hulk Hogan in front of 45,000 people with three days notice, to be wrestling Brock Lesnar at Madison Square Garden at Wrestlemania 20 — hell 12 years removed I get a phone call and I get the opportunity to do it again. Now there are huge amount of positives to that. Obviously the negative is that after I put him in the hospital, I guarantee you I’ll probably be there too.”
