Sabu was found unresponsive in a Pennsylvania area hotel room by Extreme Reunion staff on Saturday, which led to the hardcore wrestling icon being rushed to a nearby hospital before his scheduled match for the promotion. TMZ.com reports Sabu had an allergic reaction to a medication he had been taking.

“Sabu was found unresponsive in his hotel room earlier today when event staff went to his room to pick him up for tonight’s show. Management is currently awaiting results from his doctors to find out what actually happened,” a representative for Extreme Reunion told TMZ.com. “All we know is that he had prior health issues that might have been a contributing factor. We’re pulling for him and are very concerned for his health. We wish him the best of luck in his recovery.”

In an update on the former ECW star’s health, PWInsider.com reports he checked himself out of the hospital Sunday morning and is telling those who have contacted him that he is “fine.”

@Ryan, I have to agree, we’re all waiting for Scott Hall to drop, and when he does, it will definitely be a sad day. What will completely devastate wrestling is when Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, and Vince McMahon all three pass away.

  • Pissed Off Fan =(

I love Sabu! He is my favorite ECW guy. that dude is one crazy son of a bitch and i love him BUT he has to call it quits. Hes like 43 and for his health/body, has to call it quits

  • Ryan

@Effmenow as bad as it sounds i think we’re all waiting for scott hall to drop now, and yes it will be a sad day but wwe has reached out numerous times to help him and he still does these things. He’s not been like sean waltman or other guys who have completed wwe rehab and ended up getting a backstage talent role because plain and simple wwe cant trust him and there is only so much shit his wwe family can take

  • SYM

  • Mark

Im glad hes ok thats the main thing. dont need another wrestler dying

  • Gorilla

What xpac theme are you all talking about?…his music the DX one or the x-factor

  • SYM

Greg is Right! Sabu shouldn’t have Taken those pills without X-Pac’s theme song playing!

  • Gorilla

“I will not say them here nor there. I will not say them anywhere. I will not say those words ‘you quit’. I will not will not say ‘I quit’.”( Foley giving Sabu a pep-talk on his hospital bed side, using his promo from Royal Rumble 1999)…

  • Greg

If only sabu had been listening to x-pac’s theme song then this wud have never happenned

  • Effmenow

X Pac has been doing fine for years since his suicide attempt

It’s Scott Hall who everyone should worry about.

  • SYM

Thats good to hear. 90s Wrestlers are dropping like Flies. We almost lost Bagwell & Sabu. Luckily X-Pac is doing Fine.
