- ESPN.com has an article up looking at last night’s WrestleMania pay-per-view and how “Topps Slam Attax” gaming cards very accurately predicted the outcomes of last night’s matches. It’s an interesting read.

- WWE posted a message on Twitter.com today setting the record straight that superstars such as Shawn Michaels, Triple H, John Cena, Randy Orton, Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes, and the McMahons do not have Twitter pages. As for any Twitter users claiming to be those superstars, WWE said, “They are imposters.”

- MTV.com has an article looking at NXT rookie David Otunga’s WrestleMania predictions. Otunga successfully picked The Undertaker over Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart over Vince McMahon and Chris Jericho over Edge.

- WWE held a press conference on Sunday before WrestleMania 26 and RAW superstar Triple H had some very positive things to say about some of WWE’s rising young stars. IGN.com posted the following Triple H quote from the event:

“He’s (Sheamus’s) just a 24/7 ‘I want to get better’ kind of guy and that impresses me. There’s a few guys like that. You know, The Miz is a guy like that. Kofi Kingston’s like that. And to me that the exciting thing about the future for me in the WWE is guys like that, that have that passion,” Hunter said. “There’s a difference sometimes in personalities. It was a very cut-throat business a while ago and everybody was scheming to try and get their spot and you don’t see that now. But you can still see the passion in the guys. And Sheamus is a guy with a ton of it.”

long as you’re in cripple h’s back pocket your career will do well.

So basically whoever “impresses” Triple H (or I should say butt kissing) will get pushed.

I like his attitude towards the young guys I just dont like how its being played out.

And wouldn’t you know it….the guys that HHH happens to like, Kofi, Miz, and Sheamus, just so happen to be the ones that are already being pushed as a big deal.

Meanwhile, guys who have been probably way more talented (with the exception of Kofi), like Shelton Benjamin, Gregory Helms, MVP, Carlito, Evan Bourne, etc…..were largely wasted over these last few years. Again, it just amazes me that the WWE had the likes of guys like Raven and Tazz and Rhyno when they were HOT coming out of ECW, and again, totally wasted them. Any one, or all, of those three guys could have easily been a top WWE superstar, even a WWE Champion, if WWE had actually pushed them as such and treated them like they were worth any more than merely bottom of the barrel “hardcore” gimmick matches.

And it’s no different with a guy like Ultimo Dragon, or Super Crazy, or The Hurricane, or Shannon Moore. Those guys were all incredibly talented, but smaller wrestlers. Ultimo, especially, could have easily been pushed and made just as big a star as Rey Mysterio…hell, there was a time in WCW when Ultimo WAS treated like a bigger star than Rey, and rightfully so (I mean the man legitimately had 10 championships at one time). And poor London & Kendrick….tag champs on Smackdown for an entire year, and yet you’d be hard pressed to know it…they were hardly even recognized by WWE during that time as top stars, even though they were easily more talented a pure TAG TEAM than The Hardys, Dudleys or E&C ever were (no offense to those guys). I still say London & Kendrick were arguably the best tag team in the business there for awhile, and yet they never even got a Wrestlemania match….even though they were the CHAMPIONS at the time.

But hey. So long as whoever HHH likes, such as Orton and Batista in the past, get the push…that’s what really matters. Right?

I’m glad to hear a top-tier star is saying things like this, anyone who’s putting in the work deserves an opportunity, I hope that going forward we see some of the main event guys step back a bit to allow others to have a chance to rise to the top. Either pick a young star to work with and help get over, or step out of the spotlight so someone else can have a chance to stand in it.
