The WWE are currently busy finalising their plans for the upcoming WrestleMania, but apparently, there is a huge match making the rounds backstage for the next big pay-per-view, Summerslam.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a potential match between Becky Lynch and Stephanie McMahon is being discussed by the backstage officials. Meltzer went on to assert that the plan is not finalised yet with a second source in the company confirming that talks are being held.
The tensions continue to flare between Lynch and the McMahon family with the former SmackDown women’s champion crossing paths with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H on RAW and SmackDown respectively.
Becky Lynch had earlier commented on a potential match with Stephanie McMahon, where she mentioned that it would be amazing. Here’s what she said to Digital Spy in 2017:
“That would be amazing, “[Stephanie’s SummerSlam 2014 match with Brie Bella] was a great match and I think that was the match I was most excited for on that card at the time. It was great to see such a spotlight on the women and I think it was tremendous.”
