Home » WWE News » Hulk Hogan Says He’s Training for One More WWE Match, Note on His Upcoming RAW Return

- Paul Miller sent word that a nice sized crowd showed up at iPlay America in New Jersey on Saturday for a Hulk Hogan Uncut event. The event lasted under an hour.

Paul noted that Jimmy Hart, who was with Hogan, mentioned that Hogan would be appearing on RAW in the next few weeks but stopped himself and said WWE probably doesn’t want him to spoil Hogan’s return. Hogan has already been announced for the August 11th RAW.

The biggest news coming out of the event is Hogan saying he’s training for one more match in WWE and that he wants it to be against John Cena. Hogan has been praising Cena in interviews lately and called Cena the greatest WWE Champion of all-time.

He’s like Goldberg though, he has to be carried in the ring. You’re naming guys that could have a WM match against Zack Ryder or Heath Slater, Cena can’t even sell a Rock Bottom.

  • BBJ

Actually The Attitude Era started with Austin, The Undertaker, Bret and Shawn Michaels.

  • Keith Learmonth

That’s not true. This decade alone has seen great matches from Jericho, HBK, He who shall not be named, Eddie Guerrero, Undertaker, Christian, Edge, Orton, etc… Cena can go with almost any of them. Again, though, for whatever reason, he rarely goes at that level.

  • Kristopher Robinson

True, but you’re only saying that bc it’s been nothing but Cena the past 10 years and nobody else has been given that chance.

  • Kc

I think it should go back to old school when the promoters and those higher up chose champions cause they earned the right to be a champion and people agreed

  • Ray Myer

Yes. Yes he was. Austin’s attitude made the Attitude Era. It started with him and Bret Hart. That is where the Attitude era began.

  • BBJ

I would probably say that Cena is not The Greatest Champion of all time. That Title goes for The Men or Man to make the title important. Like Ric Flair, Stone Cold, HHH, HBK, or such names like that but Cena being The Man of The Titles!? No Please don’t make me laugh he puts his own ego before the titles. He’s not a true champion.

  • Keith Learmonth

Was Austin the reason for WWE’s mainstream popularity, though? Or was it the fact they changed all the content to tap into the lucrative 18-24 demographic, who were kids who had outgrown Hogan’s era?

  • Keith Learmonth

He’s at least one of the better “Big match” workers. When Cena’s not phoning it in, he’s able to do some of the best in ring work this decade.

  • Keith Learmonth

Please, no. No more Hogan matches. Everything the IWC says about Cena’s in-ring work is literally true about Hogan 10 year ago… so Hogan now would be like watching The Great Khali.

    . . . still NO.

The greatest champion is not defined by how MANY championships he has. It is defined by the overall impact he has made in the business. He is not on the level of Austin who is, to date, has made the biggest impact to the business. You can debate that as my opinion but sales and popularity in his time negative your argument. Examining the man, however, you’ll find that he was willing to play a multi-dimensional role in the industry where as Cena refuses to turn heel because it ‘isn’t who he is’. Right now? John Cena is in a sale environment with very little competition whereas Austin had to compete with guys like Triple H, The Rock and many, many more. Great champion ever… what a sick, twisted joke by a washed up has been.

  • Kristopher Robinson

The greatest champion…. No. Greatest worker…. Very possible.
