Is Seth Rollins’ injury worse than expected?

Seth Rollins won the Men’s Royal Rumble and earned the right to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 35. However, Rollins is dealing with a back injury and so he won’t be in active competition for the month of February, but he will still be present on WWE television.

On this week’s episode of RAW we saw Seth Rollins come out to the ring and cut a promo, which then lead to Dean Ambrose turning babyface as he told Rollins to beat Lesnar at Wrestlemania.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talks about Seth Rollins segment last night on RAW and speculates that the condition of Rollins’ back could be worse than was expected.

“So is he like really, I know he’s got a bad back, but is he hurt? I mean he must be hurting worse than they’re letting on. Because it sounded like Kurt Angle before that WrestleMania in Seattle almost.”

For the time being, WWE will continue to build up Rollins in the role of the sympathetic babyface going against the beast incarnate at WrestleMania. We will have to wait and see what happens next.
