Jake “The Snake” Roberts mention during a recent interview that he has made it his goal to enter next year’s 2014 Royal Rumble match.

“I’m announcing that right now,” Roberts told Fox Sports. “I’ll be in the Royal Rumble next year, count on it.”

Roberts motivation is fueled by him not wanting people to remember his final wrestling matches to be independent shows when he was out-of-shape, in poor health, and battling addictions.

“I worked too hard in this business to go out that way. So I guess we’re going to have to take a victory lap. I’m definitely coming back,” Roberts vowed at the end of the article.

Fox Sports’s story also covered Roberts’s association with DDP, who helped Roberts turn his life around in the Accountability Crib.

It’s worth noting that Robert’s last appearance as a full time employee with the WWE was at the 1997 Royal Rumble where he entered at no. 7 and was eliminated by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Not even counting his in-ring career, DDP working miracles in getting Scott Hall and Jake the Snake sober again is Hall of Fame worthy.

I want this to happen for Jake! Hopefully that will mean HOF in 2014.

that would be cool to see jake the snake roberts in royal rumble next year..

  • D2K

Yes. It’s good that he has these goals to keep him motivated to stay on task. Hopefully if he has a successful RR match he could possibly have some type of angle involving him in Wrestlemania. Perhaps grooming someone to be the one that takes down the Undertaker. I would love to just have Jake on the mic again.

I feel like laughing but I doubted him when he said he’d get sober and lose weight, so I aint making myself look an ass twice.

    Good for him.
