James Storm Says He Has Left TNA

The mass exodus from TNA continues as James Storm announced Friday that he has parted ways with the company.

Storm added that he’s not retiring from wrestling.

Brian Fritz of the Sporting News previously reported that Storm requested to be released from his contract on June 25 in Orlando, Florida while taping upcoming episodes of Impact Wrestling and had it granted.

Storm had been with TNA since its inception in June 2002. He, along with Abyss, were the company’s only remaining original members.

Primarily a tag team wrestler, Storm has held 13 tag team championships during his time with TNA, winning the NWA World Tag Team Championship a record seven times and the TNA World Tag Team Championship a record six times. On October 18, 2011, Storm won his first and only world title when he defeated Kurt Angle to capture the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
