Fresh off a victory over Matt Lindland in St. Louis earlier this month, Robbie Lawler is set to face Middleweight Champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza in a bout expected to take place as part of Strikeforce’s January 29th card at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
A Strikeforce middleweight title bout between current champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Robbie “Ruthless” Lawler is in the cards for the promotion’s January 29th event in San Jose, California.
Just four months ago the Jiu-jitsui specialist Souza won the middleweight title in a bout against Tim Kennedy at Strikeforce – Houston. Souza holds a professional record of 13-2-0-1 and is well known for his defeats over Matt Lindland, Joey Cillasenor, and Jason Miller, in addition to Kennedy.
Robbie Lawler’s profession record is just as impressive, if not greater, at 18-6-0-1. Strikeforce: “Henderson vs. Babalu II” saw Lawler brutally knock out Matt Lindland in just under a minute of round one. Lawler also holds notable victories over Melvin Manhoef, Frank Trigg, Scott Smith, and Chris Lytle.
Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz is also expected to fight on the Jan. 29 Strikeforce fight card, as is former NFL great Herschel Walker.
