- WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler spoke with Scott Fishman of The Miami Herald this week to promote the Hall of Fame tickets going on sale. Here are a few highlights:

Edge’s induction:
“We know how young Edge is, but because of his physical condition, his career was cut short. In that respect, he has come to the end of his wrestling career, but when you look back, he was such an amazing performer and accomplished so much in a short time to become worthy of being in the Hall of Fame. He is a special individual. I think it’s great he is going to be in there.

His popularity is worldwide. It’s just tremendous. I don’t think there will be anyone out there saying he shouldn’t be in there because he is too young. Here is a guy who has accomplished so much that everybody I have talked to since it was announced is just excited for Edge.”

The Horsemen Induction:
“Ric Flair having two rings is going to make a lot of people a little bit jealous. Though there is no way you can say the Four Horsemen are not worthy of being inducted in the Hall of Fame because, as a group, industry-wide, they were as formidable a group of talent that there ever has been. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, I’m excited for them. J.J. Dillon has always been a favorite of mine.”

Why shouldn’t Ric be inducted with them. With all due respect to the others without Flair there wouldn’t have been the 4 Horsemen. He was the centerpiece. Nothing wrong with multiple inductions if there is merit to it. Look at the Rock & Roll hall of fame Lennon is in as a Beatle and solo act. So is McCartney and Harrison. Clapton is in there 3 times. Several wrestlers could be inducted multiple times. HBK & HHH could both go in as singles and part of DX. Hogan, Hall, and Nash as singles and as the NWO. It isn’t a bad thing. Plus if they’d had left out Flair everybody would be bitching that its cause he went to TNA and now Vince hates him

    @ venom

He’s already said he would be.

I wonder if Flair will be on tv during the HOF.

  • Jefferson D’Arcy

I don’t think it’s bad to have Flair re-inducted. He was essentially the leader of the Horsemen, and a big part of every incarnation of that group. And I just never liked Ole. Also, he’s a big fucking racist. Ever see the WWE Legends Roundtable celebrating black wrestlers? Teddy Long tells some stories about Ole being a racist jerk to him, using the N-word, and not liking Teddy just because he was black. So, fuck Ole. But Arn definitely deserves to be in the HOF. I think Arn was good enough to be inducted by himself. One of the greatest wrestlers of all-time, and one of the best to never be world champion. And everyone’s been ripping off his spinebuster for years. Nothing beats the original.

I agree the Four Horsemen should be inducted, But leave flair out and induct Ole, Arn, Tully, And Barry along with JJ Dillion. Flair has already had his moment now let the others have theirs.
