Jerry Lynn Talks Hardcore Justice, TNA/WWE Products, and more

From Todd Frizzell:

Recently Low Blow Radio was joined by ECW original and former WCW/WWE star Jerry Lynn. The following are highlights from the interview…

When asked about Hardcore Justice Lynn said the following…

“I was intrigued. In the past I have participated in other ECW reunion events such as Hardcore Homecoming and Francine’s Legend’s Of The Arena deal. I was originally contacted by Tommy Dreamer and he told me that I would be facing Rob van Dam. I was very excited for the match and was extremely disappointed when I found out that I would be unable to participate due to an injury.”

When asked what his thoughts were on TNA possibly bringing back a form of ECW to run its own events Lynn said the following…

“I think it depends on how they do it. Vince dropped the ball when he brought it back in WWE so if TNA did is correctly I think it would and could be successful.”

When asked what his thoughts were on the TNA product overall Lynn said the following…

“It’s not what it was when it first started. It has progressed in the sense that the production values have gone up however one thing in particular I’d like to point out is TNA’s X Division and how they really helped build TNA and how it’s not really being utilized properly to its full potential today.”

When asked about Hogan and Bischoff coming to TNA and their impact on the product Lynn said…

Are you trying to prevent me from getting a job in the future there (laughing)??? (Jerry also explained how he would love to sign with TNA for a steady pay day and place to work) To be honest I don’t think they positively effected the company much. That’s all i will say about that.

When asked about facing RVD in the future in TNA Lynn said…

“Rob talked to me about this. We would both love to and are waiting for the right time and place to potentially do so.”

When asked about Tyler Black’s potential after signing a developmental deal with WWE as a former ROH competitor Lynn said…

“I think he’s improved greatly. I’ve wrestled him many times. Anyone who breaks into WWE is reaching their ultimate goal. I wish him all the best of luck.”

When asked about Kaval’s (a.k.a. Low KI or Senshi) potential in the WWE after winning NXT Season 2 Lynn replied…

“I it’s great he won it. He’s a really great wrestler. Some say he may not get an equal chance in WWE because of his size/style but look what happened to Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne). I wish him luck.”

When asked about WWE’s PG rating from TV-14 Lynn said the following…

“I think when a large part of your demographic is children and your trying to sell youth merchandise it only makes sense to target a young audience. I remember when I used to defend wrestling when it was real popular and people would attack it about how bad it was for children. I’d say what about all the rape and murder shown on prime time TV??? Then WWE did the big simulating sex act with a dead body I couldn’t even defend wrestling anymore. That’s why it should be PG.”

Lynn also announced that he will be receiving back surgery on September 9th.
