Jim Cornette praises recent WWE title match, lauds ‘selling’ of moves by both wrestlers

Veteran professional wrestling personality Jim Cornette had words of high praise for last week’s WWE title matchup.

On a recent edition of his podcast The Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette lauded the selling of moves by Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne in their recent UK title matchup.

This past Saturday at NXT Takeover: Chicago, Pete Dunne defeated Tyler Bate for the WWE United Kingdom championship in a showdown that was praised by both fans and critics alike.

Weighing in on the aforementioned matchup, Cornette stated-

“They had a great match, a good solid match. They are wonderful proponents of mat wrestling and a lot of the World Of Sport influenced style.”

Besides, on the ‘selling’ aspect of the match, Cornette appreciated Bate and Dunne’s ability as regards the same-

“They sold everything they did and you saw the toll that it was taking on their body and you saw the pain and the reaction.”

Pete Dunne presently holds the WWE United Kingdom title and is involved in a feud with Tyler Bate. Fans can catch the young duo duke it out in the days to come on NXT.

Jim Cornette is spot-on here- Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate are 23 and 20 respectively, and without a doubt are future stars in the WWE. I’m truly intrigued to see how WWE chooses to book the two young lads, build them up steady and introduce them on the main roster, perhaps, in the next 3-4 years.
