Jim Ross Blog: The Wyatt Family Debut on RAW, Rob Van Dam Promos, Brad Maddox as General Manager

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is back with another blog on Here are some highlights:

– The overall build for the Wyatt Family from the beginning of the show including their entrance was well done. I’m curious to see what their next move will be. Smackdown? MITB? Next week on RAW? All of the above?

– The RVD promos certainly made Rob feel special and I’d venture to say more special than his TV persona has felt since he was last in WWE. Great video clips with, ahem, some nice sound bytes from some voice over guy. 🙂

– Brad Maddox being named the new, RAW GM provides for some interesting creative opportunities in the future. I’m curious to see where this matter goes and the political agenda that Maddox’ TV persona establishes. Brad certainly doesn’t have the support of the announce trio based on their comments Monday night which could provide some entertaining interaction in future weeks. Maddox reminds me somewhat of the late, Eddie Gilbert. Maddox’ upside is viable.

I got you now. They have seemed to lost the steam but I guess we just have to* believe in the shield*

I don’t want it to happen verbatim, but something like that would give The Shield more power and give Maddox a little personality. Right now, The Shield seem to have taken a backseat to other acts and I don’t seem them as dominant as before. Having a GM or other authority figure on their side would allow them to wreak havoc on Raw and do what they please without repercussion.

U want that to happen??? That ruined wcw

Maddox reminds me of a young Eric Bischoff, which is why I always thought he’d be a good Raw GM. Maybe he can secretly join the Shield, the same way Bischoff joined the nWo back in WCW. People might ask how that could work, since the Shield attacked Maddox, but remember, Nash also powerbombed Bischoff through the stage at the Great American Bash. Would be an interesting twist. But I don’t want to see Brad start wearing leather jackets and riding Harleys to the ring.
