Jim Ross: Braun Strowman will be the next big thing in 2019

Braun Strowman has been one of the most entertaining superstars on the Raw brand since going solo back in 2016. The Monster Among Men’s insane feats of strength and cartoonish antics have won over the WWE Universe a hundred times over, and it’s clear that the WWE has a top star on their hands.

With the kind of reaction that Strowman has gotten, it’s surprising that he hasn’t had some kind of lengthy title run yet. He’s had opportunities at the Universal Championship but has yet to pry the belt out of Brock Lesnar’s hands, and he won the Raw Tag Team Titles with Nicholas at WrestleMania but relinquished the belts due to his partner’s conflicting schedule. However, Jim Ross believes that 2019 could be the year of “The Hands.”

On the latest episode of The Jim Ross Report, Good Ol’ JR believes that Strowman could be a top guy in 2019.

I like the continued advancement of Braun Strowman. He’s not being force fed to me. I think he’s going to be the next big thing in 2019. I wouldn’t do it before then. I don’t think he’s quite ready for it. But man, you can see him getting better and better every week. Braun Strowman, in my opinion, is the future lead mule in the WWE.

Could Braun Strowman lead the company? It’s possible. While he might not be the technical wrestler that the older or indie crowds want, it’s hard to deny his great character work. And, let’s be honest, a guy with that size doesn’t have to be the cleanest wrestler in the world.

What are your thoughts? Could you see Strowman leading the back in 2019? Let us know below.
