WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on the Elimination Chamber event and the passing of Tommy Rogers.
On the Elimination Chamber event: Elimination Chamber was a sound event overall with the Cena-Owens and Ambrose-Rollins matches being the best of the night. I wasn’t wild about either Elimination Chamber bout but thought the tag title one was the better of the two. The effort by the talent was there but the format isn’t one that interests me in a PG landscape. Too much synchronization and stunts for my taste especially in the tag title version while the IC Title tilt seemed disjointed. Surprised that New Day retained which is a good thing being surprised and I have no issue with Ryback attempting to continue to put the luster back on the IC Title. Ryback used ala the Ultimate Warrior in some aspects of his game might be doable and work for the IC Champion.
On the passing of Tommy Rogers: So sad to hear of the untimely passing of Tommy Rogers, one half of the Fantastics tag team along with Bobby Fulton, at the age of 54 yesterday in Hawaii where he was living. Tommy was a tremendous in ring performer and his partnership with Fulton comprised one of the best, fan favorite tag teams that I ever worked with in my career. They followed the legendary Rock ‘n Roll Express in Mid South Wrestling without missing a beat. Their matches with the Midnight Express and the Sheepherders aka the Bushwhackers were tag team clinics. My condolences to Tommy’s family, friends and his many fans who will miss him. RIP Tommy Rogers.
