A lot of people have been criticizing WWE’s decision to pick Baron Corbin as Kurt Angle’s opponent for his farewell match at the upcoming WrestleMania PPV.
WWE Legend Jim Ross also talked about it during the recent episode of his Jim Ross Report podcast and revealed why he is unhappy with this decision.
Ross said that it has nothing to do with Corbin’s work ethic but the occasion could have been made more special if it was somebody that was perceived by the audience as more over:
“I was underwhelmed with the choice of opponents for Kurt Angle’s retirement match (it) had nothing to do with ability, the work ethic, the passion of performing of Baron Corbin but it could have been made more special if it was somebody that was more tenured and was perceived by the audience as more ‘over'”
As we noted before, despite the popular belief, the current plans are for Kurt Angle to face Baron Corbin in his farewell match and as of this writing, there is no plan of changing his opponent for the bout.
