– On this day back in 2001, the final episode of WCW’s Monday Nitro aired as a part of a simulcast with WWE’s RAW. Shane McMahon appeared on the show in what would begin the Invasion angle in WWF. The main event of the final Nitro saw Sting defeat Ric Flair in just over 7 minutes.
