John Cena will debut new pink attire in recognition of breast cancer awareness at tonight’s Night of Champions pay-per-view event in Boston, Massachusetts, according to The Boston Herald.

The publication released a photo of Cena donning his new threads late Saturday, which includes a black “Rise Above Cancer” T-Shirt with a pink logo and pink “Rise Above Cancer” cap.

Cena will be wearing his new gear through October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as WWE partners with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to eradicate breast cancer. The WWE Superstar has a personal reason for helping out the cause.

“One of the reasons I really wanted to do something with Susan G. Komen is because of my brother,” said Cena. “Early detection saved his life.”

Cena’s youngest brother, Sean, discovered last November that he had brain cancer.

“Sean’s doing extremely well,” said Cena. “It was an inoperable brain tumor, but one of the main reasons he’s done well is the early detection. I know it’s brain cancer and breast cancer, but that key is early detection.”

Though the partnership seems odd on the surface, there are more than five million women who watch WWE programming every week, making it the perfect match.

“It’s very exciting for us to be partnered up with Susan G. Komen,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events. “The WWE and John Cena have such a large female fan base, so it’s important for us to support the people who have supported us for so long.”

The full story is available at BostonHerald.com, which enclosed a photo of Cena in the attire.

@StudDog First Off go Fuck yourself cuz it was a Joke towards Cena. Secondly get your Head out your Ass because I’m a Supporter of the Cure for Breast Cancer, but WWE uses it in a sick way to get Cena over More.

    @ Fred @voice of reason @johncena33 @adam.
Thanks for saying the things that need to be said.
@moo—I think everyone knows what colors I normally wear but when not in uniform I always wear a pink shirt in honor of my Mother. My so does the same.

@SYM @MaNic—What can I say? Never expected anything more from a couple of dumbasses.

    SEMPER FI!!!

  • anghellic1

    Props to cena…
But ithink we all knew he was gonna end up in pink some day, the man was running out of color options for his shirts

  • voice of reason

love cena or hate him it doesnt matter if through cena wearing pink brings even an extra dollar to the coffers to help eradicate breast cancer then it maybe that dollar that helps to find a cure.

it’s all about raising awareness of this terrible condition.

  • Fred

When will people grow up, and stop associating a man wearing pink to his sexuality? Fucking immature assholes.

  • adam

massive respect to Cena for doing this. To the people talking shit about Cena wearing pink, whats the difference between that and NFL players wearing pink for the whole month of october??? its pretty much the same.

  • http://www.facebook.com/manicwrestler MaNic

wow way to copy punk cena…. punk must of been getting alot of praise backstage for doing it and cena cant stand not being the center of everything at all times.

  • SYM

They lied the Shirt will really say Rise Above Elizabeth.

  • moo

The only way you can get way with wearing pink and not look like a faggot is if your a member of the Hart family, otherwise it looks awful, for some reason the can get way with it, Cm Punk looked like he was wearing womens underwear with pink trunks on RAW.

  • LSC

@Vide CM Punk as well…this is another post for Anti-Cena people to poke fun at him, yet their heroes wore PINK..

  • Eve’s left nipple

@Wildeye Cena is only doing charitable stuff because WWE make him do it, Maybe it has changed him as a man but don’t think for one minute he would have done that stuff other wise.

  • vide

Lol i like how some of u guys are trashing the pink attire. Incase yall forgot, hall of famer bret hard wore pink probably throughout his whole career. But cena wears it and yall complain.

  • LSC

Respect to Cena for this. And The Rock bandwagoners will mock Cena because he is showing supporter to the bravest people alive. Expecting yofits to bash Cena….

  • wildeye

I respect John Cena for doing what he does outside the ring. He shows how much he cares for the people.

  • Logan

    Gotta give the man props.

  • scooter

Massive respect to Cena, not his biggest guy always goes the extra mile for things like this.

  • john

hated he is in his home town

  • chris benoit

maybe he should throw them out to teh crowd and just wear his nomral attaire

  • .

No one had a problem with Punk wearing pink. Just saying.

  • StudDog

    @hi Very well said.

@Lord KGM This was not a debate over who is better, It is a discussion about a man supporting a cause and no a month is not that long. If it were up to me it would be a year long event.

@everyone else commenting on his pink gear, Re-read the article. Only his cap will be pink, His shirt will be black with a pink logo.

  • Lord KGM

Here comes the Cenations lame asses! Lol right on point too but seriously. Punk is better than Cena. Cena will lose tonight because he deserves too. No other reasoning other than that. Pink? I like the cause but the whole month is extremely long to be wearing pink. Just saying though…

Yup cus Cena wearing pink is REALLY going to help his cause lol!

I mean don’t get me wrong i’m all for charitable work and as a person who’s lost a family member to cancer I respect what he’s doing for the cause, but a guy who’s already hated and going into a hostile crowd wearing pink is like just painting a bulls eye on your chest.
