Home » WWE News » Why John Cena Is Missing Monday’s Big RAW, Speculation on a New WWE Champion, Lesnar

- Up until a few days ago, WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena was still being advertised for this Monday’s post-Battleground RAW from Miami but he has been pulled from the listings. Cena will not be there as he has to be on the set of the Trainwreck movie that he is appearing in.

This could be seen as a sign that Cena will drop the title at Battleground on Sunday. While it has not been confirmed or even rumored that is the plan, there are a lot of people who feel it’s time to “pull the trigger” on Roman Reigns and give him the title on Sunday.

With Brock Lesnar scheduled to return on Monday’s RAW, it will be interesting to see how they use him with Cena gone.

Just because Taker lost to Lesnar doesn’t mean he doesn’t know a strategy to beat him.

the big problem with that idea is that we have already had Bryan & Barrett stripped of titles due to injuries, so to have a champion another unable to appear, would be bad for the company. Making it look like all their champions are injury prone.

then again, this is the same company that vacated the WWE Championship over a fast count.

But he’s already faced and beaten Lesnar so I don’t even see how another feud between the two would even make sense. But then again, it is the WWE and they kinda’ have this fetish with doing things that make zero sense.

why would he get help from the Undertaker? The Undertaker lost to him

  • Mark Johnson

maybe you should work for the wwe creative team gj good story line

  • Will Henderson

the WWE World Heavyweight Championship isn’t gonna change hands, i see Cena retaining, but after the match, Lesnar returns and violently attacks him and trys to break Cena’s arm to set up Cena’s time away from WWE to film the movie he will start in with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Sounds really cool as Reigns hits an F5 to beat Lesnar, plus a big tension.
What I do not get is Rollins turning face again, this will not happen, but it is great storytelling there

  • Qinno

exactly what I predicted, sans Rollins part

  • TheTruthHasSetMeFree

That’s a very good idea and makes too much sense for WWE to do that. WWE=No Logic

  • Robert

I like the way you think

If they really want Reigns to be a mega-star, here’s how you do it.

-Reigns wins at Battleground, only for Rollins to cash in and take the championship.
-On Raw the next night the Authority ask Rollins to forfeit the Championship to Orton, Rollins refuses, so HHH books Rollins vs Orton for the main event.
-Rollins gets the upset victory to retain the title, but As he celebrates, Lesnar hits the ring and destroys Rollins.
-The next week on Raw HHH announces Brock Lesnar vs Rollins for the title.
-Lesnar defeats Rollins in a match booked similarity to Hardy vs Taker years ago.

-Lesnar begins his reign of terror on the WWE, defeating Cena at Summerslam, Orton at Night of Champions and Batista at Royal Rumble, only defending the title the bare minimum he can without being stripped if the title.
-Heyman comes out week after week parading the WWE Title, reminding the fans that his client and current WWE Champion ended the streak.
-Roman Reigns wins the Royal Rumble (Rollins and Ambrose in the final 3).
-Reigns immediately seeks out the council of The Undertaker to help him train to beat Lesnar at Wrestlemania.

-Wrestlemania main event Reigns vs Lesnar NO DQ match.
-The Authority comes out at the end to try and cost Reigns the match, Ambrose and Rollins make the save.
-Kane hits the ring, but Undertaker cuts him off. Rollins hits an F5 on Lesnar for the win.

Wrestlemania closes with Undertaker holding up Reigns arm, as Reigns clutches the WWE championship.

Him not being on Raw doesn’t necessarily mean he will lose the title…

LOLCENAWINS —> Rollins comes out to cash in MITB —> All out war erupts as Ambrose comes out and everyone is fighting each other —> HHH comes out and reveals “Plan B” (Brock) —> Lesnar absolutely DESTROYS Cena and Cena is taken away on a stretcher —>HHH tries to get Seth to cash in on Cena repeatedly as he is slowly being taken to an ambulance, but the whole WWE roster is fighting back and forth and he’s eventually driven away to a hospital —> Raw now has an excuse for Cena not being there, HHH tries to strip him of his championship, Cena shows up on the big screen and says he has 30 days and that he will see Lesnar at SummerSlam.

Any title change doesn’t seem to make much sense as they could of easily put the belt on another guy last month; This could just be a rumor to put doubt into Cena winning, we have all seen the promo spots for Summer Slam with Brock/Cena. I’m guessing Brock lays out Cena and he can be “hurt” for Monday. I would like to see Brock lay out both Cena and Seth (as he attempts to cash in) ensuring he gets Cena for the title.

I wish they would give Roman Reigns time. It’s far too soon, and supposedly the entire point of making Cena champion is to build him up to face Lesnar.
