John Cena provides explanation why AEW will benefit WWE

While John Cena is busy with his career in Hollywood, he is still aware of everything that goes on in the world of professional wrestling. AEW has a lot of attention and is certainly a huge topic of discussion in the wrestling world. Cena sees it as a good thing for WWE.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, John Cena discussed All Elite Wrestling. He said that within WWE, there was always competition among superstars in order to get better and now with AEW around, it will help motivate WWE all the more to improve its product and that is certainly a good thing.

“I think competition is great because it forces you to step up or step aside and I think that is fantastic. We have internal competition of performers trying to be the best in our umbrella and that is wonderful because you sink or swim on your own investment.”

“I think external competition is great because once again that will force us to step up or step aside and you can say what you want about them being competition or not competition, I view any form of digestible entertainment as competition because your eyes can go elsewhere. So that’s how I view that.”

“Competition also stands for the state of the wrestling economy and it’s really good right now. There are a lot of people overseas and smaller promotions are getting larger and more traction which means you are consuming more sport entertainment and/or wrestling which is great for everything.”

We will have to see what AEW brings to the table and how successful it will be as a promotion. It is already known that Jim Ross will be providing commentary for the company. On top of that, they will have a weekly TV show.

Perhaps this will change professional wrestling as a whole. We will get to know in good time.
