While talk of a super fight between current World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) featherweight champion Jose Aldo and a top UFC lightweight have been the talk of the MMA world for the past few days a recent interview between Aldo and Tatame.com shed some light on the biggest prospect. The champion apparently stated in the interview that he had been offered a fight with UFC lightweight Kenny Florian in December. Aldo goes on to state that his manager did not feel it was the right fight at the right time for the young champion so it was an opportunity they passed on. While Aldo certainly has the speed and overall skill set to compete and excel in the UFC Florian could of presented a much different challenge.
