J.R. Says He Will No Longer Argue With Cole, Comments On Sting vs. Undertaker

Joey Styles took to Twitter to comment on the incessant bickering by Michael Cole and Jim Ross on the Raw Supershow, writing: “Can we have @MichaelCole vs. @JRsBBQ with the loser leaving Raw? Their bickering has me turning down the volume and reading the live chat.”

Ross said from this point forward, he will no longer bicker with Cole during WWE television broadcasts.

“@JoeyStyles my on air bickering days w/ Cole ended Mon Nite. I’m tapping w/ my end of unnecessary psycho babble. I’ll focus on the talent,” Ross wrote.

Ross also provided a definitive answer to fan questions regarding the possibility of The Undertaker facing Sting at WrestleMania XXVIII.

“For the love of all that’s holy, there will be NO Undertaker vs. Sting match at WrestleMania 28,” Ross wrotE. “Come on, man…or woman! Let it go.”

A fan said “that’s the match everyone wants to see.” Ross responded, “Not everyone. Sting’s 52 years old and is contracted to another company.”

I like how Jr is only pointing out Sting’s age, shit the Taker is 46 years old too, in my opinion Sting is just as agile as the Taker is, i love them both and im a lifelong Sting fan and i think both should hang em up soon…That’s J.R. though throwing jabs at anything that isnt WWE

Sting vs Undertaker will never happen because Sting likes to work in a company where they like to drink and drive. I don’t understand what Sting sees in that company.

Sting has looked better and better each time I’ve seen him since his return. He could easily work a mathc with Taker. But JR is right, it ain’t gonna happen. Sting doesn’t want to, and so it won’t. Simple as that.

I too lost my focus on the match, listening to cole was like listening to nails on a chalk board, you have to turn your head because of the rambling he did. I almost ripped the speaker out of my tv

Taker’s broken down NOW*. And honestly, Sting isn’t pulling 5-star matches out of his ass either, at 52. Still love the guy, but come on. He’s not embarrassing as Hogan, but like I said, it wouldn’t live up to the hype.

Sting vs. Taker will just be one of those matches that would’ve been cool to see, but won’t happen. Like at WrestleMania 18, it should’ve been Austin vs. Hogan, not Rock. But it’s way too late for that match. I’ve always wanted to see a proper HBK vs. RVD match. It happened on RAW once in 2002 after Michaels had won the World title, but Triple H interfered. A proper one-on-one PPV match with those two, especially that year, would’ve been great. I didn’t WANT to see it but it would’ve been interesting to see Jericho vs. Mickey Rourke at WrestleMania XXV, but that didn’t happen. Just Rourke “knocking him out”. Rourke had proper training to do the film, The Wrestler, so it’s not like he couldn’t have taken a bump. So people need to let the Sting vs. Taker match go. Looks amazing on paper, and 10 years ago, would’ve been great. Even 5 years ago, Taker could’ve carried Sting to a passable match. But Taker’s broken down down and it just wouldn’t live up to the hype. Let it remain a “What if?”

Not everyone wants to see Undertaker vs Sting? What does his age have to do with anything? Ric Flair is old as hell and he puts on good matches still, you’re telling me Sting can’t? Now as for who would lose, well… Nobody wants Taker to lose the streak and nobody wants Sting to lose at WrestleMania so it’s tough on that aspect.

Cole needs to just go away or go manage like Vickie.

  • Trixie

Thank god. Seriously their commentary last night was SO annoying. And totally distracted from the matches.

  • Buttercastle

Just boot Cole off and have JR and King like the good old days.

  • Sean Mooney

I did notice how JR started ignoring Cole during the King/Ryder Vs. McGuilicutty/Otunga match. I hope he does continue ignoring him, but I don’t believe it’ll stop “Mr. McCole”. Vince will continue to get on JR’s nerves through Cole.

announcing these days agravate me. cole is the biggest smartass and i want to snap his neck. an effective heel? sure. annoying? yes. constant bickering turns my attention away from the damn match. i found myself veering my eyes away from the tv and listening to his bs. cant help it because i dont put the audio on mute, i like to hear banging on the mat and people cheering. king makes me laugh and concur with him when he goes over cole.

  • TheMark

Sting had his chance. Vince won’t ask again.
