UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock was on his way to his third win in four fights until a knee injury halted the 46-year-old fighter. Shamrock, one of MMA’s earliest superstars, now has posted a 2-7 mark (with seven KO/TKO losses) since a knockout of Kimo Leopoldo as part of his 2004 comeback.
Shamrock (28-15-2) used a right cross to knock down KOTC heavyweight veteran Mike Bourke (10-16-1) at Thursday’s “KOTC: Platinum” event in Durban, South Africa. However, Shamrock injured his leg during a scramble and ultimately was forced to surrender the TKO in the second round, the victory was just the second Bourke has posted in his past 11 fights.
