– WWE has announced the WrestleMania Reading Challenge World Finals in Atlanta, Georgia for April 2nd. Twenty regional winners in grades 5-12 from across the US and Canada will compete for the chance to win ringside tickets for WrestleMania 27. WWE Superstars Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Hornswoggle and Eve Torres will ask the students questions on books they have been assigned to read.

More than 1,800 libraries participated in this year’s WrestleMania Reading Challenge. Participants pledged to read five books between October 2010 and WrestleMania 27. Students in grades 5 and 6 entered the contest by creating a bookmark to promote reading. Students in grades 7 through12 created a description or illustration of how a “tag team” of their favorite literary character and their favorite WWE Superstar would go on to defeat the team of Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. Each regional winner won a trip for two to Atlanta and tickets to WrestleMania 27 and each finalist’s sponsoring library won $2,000 and a set of books from Penguin, including a new line of titles featuring WWE Superstars.

– After his non-title loss to Jack Swagger on this past Friday’s SmackDown, WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston is currently on a 6-match losing streak.
