Kushida leaving NJPW at the end of January

Yujiro Kushida has been with NJPW since 2010, where he began his run by winning four of seven matches in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament. During his time in NJPW, he captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship six times and won the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Titles twice with Alex Shelley as a part of the Time Splitters.

Kushida also won the Best of the Super Juniors Tournament in 2015 and 2017, beating both Kyle O’Reilly and Will Ospreay. Outside of NJPW, he’s also worked for Ring of Honor, where he captured the World Television Championship.

Kushida issued a statement on his upcoming departure, stating that he would be heading overseas. There are quite a few options for him to choose from, though right now the two biggest options will be WWE and AEW.
