Latest on the SummerSlam Main Event, Lesnar vs. Triple H and More

– At last word, the plan was for WWE Champion CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. Big Show to close Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. There has been discussion of putting the title on Cena and doing Cena vs. The Rock at the Royal Rumble followed by Punk vs. Rock at WrestleMania 29. However, it’s speculated that WWE will end up going with Cena vs. Rock II at WrestleMania.

With Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar not scheduled to main event, that could suggest that Lesnar is winning. There may be the feeling there that Lesnar needs a win after losing to Cena a few months back.

@Jimbo I thought the 11th Commandment was that No Minority Should hold the WWE title for more than 3 Months?

I am from NY and am going to Mania next yr, I do NOT want a rematch… Ziggler better be winning the belt or this might be an awful Wrestlemania

Lesnar vs HHH should be the main event. Egos or nor egos. If it was, it actually makes sense unlike Cena vs Laurenitis at whatever PPV that was.If the WWE title is in the main event it means CM Punks’s going to lose.

Orton should turn heel at SS & attack Sheamus or something, His character is terribly stale.

Even though it has John Cena in it, I can’t see the WWE title match going on last. Triple H and Lesnar’s egos are both too big to accept second billing, not to mention, the fact that Shawn Michaels could be involved somehow, and I don’t see why they wouldn’t put it on last. They obviously don’t care about the title since it hasn’t main evented 1 PPV all year. I guess since it has Cena in it, I wouldn’t be that shocked if it went on last, but it’s difficult to imagine considering it’s Triple H/Lesnar. The fact that the last 30 minutes of Raw was all Triple H/Lesnar build says it all.

LOL not enough time? miz and rey had even less time (still not sure why they are having a match)

That’s interesting, if it’s true. A light slap on the wrist though bevause he’ll be pushed right back to the moon immediately starting after SummerSlam.

According to a source within WWE, while he will not be wrestling in a match at SummerSlam, Randy Orton is expected to appear in some live capacity at the PPV Sunday night.

At this point WWE has been discussing the idea of Orton possibly cutting a promo during the show, or delivering the RKO at some point. While the exact details of what Orton will be doing have yet to be decided on, WWE does want to feature him in some way on the PPV.

WZ has been told that the decision to keep Orton off SummerSlam in a wrestling capacity was made while Orton was suspended. A source noted to us the reason why was a combination of creative not having enough time to work him into the show, and further punishment for failing the Wellness Test.

In related news, WZ has been told that the addition of Kevin Rudolf’s musical performance on the show will make it highly unlikely that both Damien Sandow vs Brodus Clay and Cody Rhodes vs Sin Cara will take place.

    Twice in a lifetime!

  • That is stupid. How is it that the moost hype match is not the main event. Hopefully that doesn’t happen.

I hope Lesnar wins with hitting a F-5 and pins instead of “breaking” his arm again

  • Jimbo

Of course it’s the main event. John Cena is involved. Don’t forget the 11th Commandment: Thou shalt not have a WWE main event without John Cena.
