Lawler & Cole Pushing For Ross Return, WWE Pleased With Media Coverage On The Miz

— It’s said to be no secret that Jim Ross wants to return to the announce booth. His appearance on Raw two weeks ago resulted in overwhelming sentiment that he should return, but his fate lies in the hands of Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn, who prefer youth—though Jerry Lawler is three years older than Ross.

Furthermore, Lawler and Cole have pushed for Ross to replace Matt Striker as the third man for pay-per-view broadcasts, whom they dislike. McMahon, however, feels the pay-per-view broadcast team should be limited to those who work television.

— WWE officials were said to be very happy and surprised at the amount of mainstream media attention The Miz’ WWE Championship victory last week on Raw received. His win was covered by TMZ, Access Hollywood,, Entertainment Tonight and MTV, among others.

I don’t even think vince watches wwe anymore. if he put down his bottle of wine and told one of his 75,000 butlers to turn on his flat screen tv he would see why he is losing fans and viewers.

Because Vince has lost his mind. I’m pretty confident that he just wants to run the company into the ground.

Striker isn’t bad but JR is better. Why is McMahon so against bringing back JR? Because of his age. Then replace the King.

I have a lot more respect for Lawler and Cole now I know they don’t like Striker. He might know a lot about wrestling but there is no more annoying commentator in wrestling or in sport for that matter.

  • Matt

id like to see punk/striker/jr as a combo

  • Mike Oxafloppin

Seems like if WWE were smart they would keep Miz the champion. I mean not only is he one of the most deserving guys to hold the title he gives the company positive media attention. The only attention from the media John Cena gets is bad reviews from his sh!tty movies.

I would like to see matt stryker back as a manager. I thought he was good manager for viserca aka big daddy v in 2007-2008.

  • David

But seriously, ditch Striker. Classic Lawler/Ross on RAW, Cole/Punk on SD!

  • David

How about a five man bi-promotional announce team consisting of Lawler/Punk/Striker/Cole/Ross? lol

  • damkat

Shows how much Vinnie know I would be more likely to pay the $50 bucks to watch if Ross was in the booth. He makes every match he does so much more entertaining.

To quote Edge, “I would rather listen to a recording of J.R. than a live Micheal Cole.”

  • jay

Actually like striker. and punk to. would be awesome to have jr back

  • conrad

  • In Grind We Crust
