Likely challenger for Dean Ambrose’s Intercontinental Title

On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Bobby Lashley interrupted Seth Rollin’s match against Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Title in the main event and beat Rollins down.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said WWE has a few options as far as Dean Ambrose’s next challenger is concerned. Apparently, it could be one of the men involved in the six-man tag team match that Dean competed in to start the show this week.

“In the end, Bobby Lashley cost Seth the Intercontinental Title so it looks like, I don’t know what they’re gonna need to Dean because Dean is going to need a new challenger if Seth is married to Bobby Lashley. So, did they seem to build anyone? Not really.”

“I mean the babyfaces against Ambrose was Seth who was just with Ambrose and John Cena — he may work with Ambrose, but he’s gonna be gone pretty soon. Finn Balor, I guess it could be Finn Balor later, it’s possible.”

Ambrose might not even need an opponent as he is already going to compete in the Royal Rumble match. However, it is still uncertain who his next challenger will be as it is still pure speculation. So we will have to wait and see what happens.

So, Meltzer used his amazing powers of “Vaguely guessing” and “watching the show” to bring us his “expert opinion”, huh?

He’s correct. His analogy is spot on.

The I.C. has turned into a floating championship. Who ever has it (Dean) will likely have it for a great while.

Just no more Seth Rollins vs Dean Amborse that feud is over for now.

  • So Lashley and Rollins got married? Meltzer doesn’t know anything, he gets more wrong than right.

  • Spoiler Alert

Meltzer is correct. As of a few weeks ago, the plan is Balor vs Ambrose for the IC title at Mania.
