  • Jon

Triple H reverse that decison when he became “chief operating officer.”

  • marcum

what happened to if john cena losses at MITB he gets fired?

  • The Fork on the left

Probably theres gonna be an undisputed championship match and they bring in a new title for the winner?

  • Matthew

BREEZY, I was going to say that last night, maybe a little bit different, but decided not to, just out of the fact that at least WWE has a competitor to help with their (WWE’s) ratings, lol.

  • Generic Troll

Guess it could be debated till the cows come home, I mean his finisher is named after the radiohead song Go To Sleep, which in itself is an incredible piece of music, easiest way put the music Punk affiliates himself with is just superb, hes a hell of a guy and if he has or if/when he does release a biography of some description I’ll be investing in it as soon as possible

  • Howe

I’m fully aware of the lyrics to cult of personality and I don’t doubt that it’s a great song. Hell, props to Living Colour for having a song that’s endured over a decade.

The passionate, straight-edge, wrestling obsessed aspects of Punk’s personality tie in with both songs. But This Fire Burns brings incredible energy and intensity when its played, and it fits incredibly well as a wrestling theme for a variety of reasons.

If Punk seeks a different vibe then he’ll get rid of the song. The new theme is likely part of the transition to the new WWE Main Event version of Phil

  • Generic Troll

Ever looked at Cult of Personality’s lyrics and compared it with Punk? Far out even the song’s title relates to him, how can you say his character is all about passion, is straight edge and the best wrestler in the world and not tie that to his personality?

Not knocking This Fire Burns as KSE are one of my top rated bands, and not taking away from your thoughts of how it relates to him, but Cult of Personality is just as much suited to Punk and hell it could end up being the theme for a stable of Punk, Cobana and other number of others Punk somehow worked into a contract.

  • Howe

Allow me to look past the crazed reactions to Punk’s old ROH theme, and to say that he should stick with Killswitch Engage. One of the most central and formative parts of Punk’s character is his passion . His character, almost literally, revolves around his intensity and passion regarding wrestling: “I’m straight edge; wrestling is my drug” and “I’m the best wrestler in the world!”

No other entrance theme in the WWE conveys intensity and passion more than his Killswitch Engage theme. From the first guitar riff, the song creates a intensity that matches perfectly with his wrestling-crazed persona. The song combines hardcore electric guitar riffs, heavy percussion, and lyrics to create a song that conveys serious dedication to his passion, wrestling. The friggin hook says it all: “Even through the darkest days/this fire burns alllllllways”

Yeah, Cult of Personality may be catchy and nostalgic, but given the passionate, wrestling obsessed persona of CM Punk, This Fire Burns is a much more fitting theme.

  • Generic Troll

    1) Stupid idea to bring him back this soon.

    2) Why should he face Cena again? He won the match, they won’t have another top it.

    3) Cena is like HHH and Taker, Rey and Orton are in the same boat too.. They don’t need belts as they are already completely and utterly over and can have feuds that outshine WWE & WHW Title matches.

    4) The amount of people a) knocking Cult of Personality & b) don’t realise it is Punks ROH Theme are an utter disgrace, my question to the latter is who’s bandwagon are you going to jump on next? you’re pathetic..

    5) last but definitely not least.. please let creative recover because they’ve almost completely dropped the ball now with what was the storyline of the last few years by a long shot..

I guess Rey was what is called a “Transitional Champion” in the storyline, but I would rather it happened to Miz.

Also, Cult of Personality + Punk = CHAMPION……

  • RAMSES 2

  • frank

so let me get this right punk said he will leave wwe cuase he dont like it there n shoot on vince just to came bak 2 weeks later to face cena oh how great and did hhh nose get bigger? sure does look like it

  • poko

While I agree that it was a good RAW, it’s still far to soon to say that we can expect the same level of quality going forward. It was an extremely atypical situation, with no officially recognized champion. We don’t know that Cena won’t be squashing Punk in rematches by the end of next month, before he starts chewing though the roster again. Let’s give the WWE a chance, by all means, but people are cynical because they’ve been made to be cynical. They’ve made a good START, yes, but that’s all it is at this point.

  • CenaIsTheWortsOfAllTime

Wow that was a joke yay Cena is the Bestest there is and the Bestest there was and Bestest there ever will be omg no one can beat Cena! Hes just sooo good omg omg, Like it doesn’t even matter if someone beats him for the title he will get it back within days!!! Whooa omg Super Cena just the bestest wrestler Period.

  • Kris

nto a wheelhair but a scooter

MATTHEW or they can go watch TNA and watch how they destroy STING’s legacy with a joker character lol or how they gonna roll hulk hogan in a wheelchair soon against ric flair and his walker

  • Matthew

Kevin, I’m telling you, it’s going to be Cena/Rock for the title at WM28, if you watched the backstage segment on the Raw a few months ago when it was Rocks birthday, Cena held the belt up to his face and told him that this belt is his present for him at WM28. He basically spilt the beans that he’s defending his title against the Rock. And yes, they will have unify Punks belt and Cena’s belt for two reasons-1)they have a new belt waiting to be debuted, and 2) CM Punk is still the actual WWE Champion, which means that while Cena may have “won” the WWE Championship, until he either defeats Punk for his belt, or loses the one he(Cena) beat Mysterio for, technically Cena is a “Paper Champion”, I’m sorry to say.

  • Matthew

BREEZY, I agree bud. I thought this Raw was great, how often do you see a WWE Championship match on RAW anymore, let alone as the opening match, and then it be defended in the main event? Money In The Bank, Last weeks RAW, and this weeks RAW have been a treat for people. RAW is getting back on the right track, something we haven’t seen on a regular basis since the Attitude Era. Sure there have been exceptional RAW’s here and there over the past few years, but two weeks in a row, coming off of an outstanding PPV. I’m sorry, but all you people who are pissing and moaning and whining and bitching and bashing RAW are all a bunch of ingrates. You should be thankful WWE is going in this direction. If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it, go read a book or something.

  • rocky sucks

    cena will say that punk is the real champ and he wants a rematch at summerslam couse that’s the guy he is{hopefully punk will beat him again and we won’t see his punked ass until the rumble or elimination chamber{which he’s brobably gonna win}

  • Kevin

Matthew its not a unifcation…Its the samd damn belt!!! No way do they make Rock vs Cena a title match that would be like HBK VS Taker having a belt on the line…You dont need a title on that match. Makes no sense to put the strap back on Cena and Punk was just bitching a month ago at the end of RAW about this very same thing…He slayed super Cena at M.I.T.B and it makes no sense at all to have another match so quick.

  • Matthew

*Correction to item 2: Bringing back CM Punk with the real belt, after Cena won the fake belt.
*Correction to item 3: Cena will probably lose the belt to ADR either right at the end of SummerSlam or right before Survivor Series via last minute cash in after Cena wins a match.

what was so bad about this ending? to me it was great left you guessing whats gonna happen next week. this is how every raw ended in the attitude era, always left you with questions but satisfied you enough to be happy and talk about it all week….

on another note: i have a problem with all of these people talking about how weak wwe has got because rock, austin, bret, ETC. have left and all we have is newcomers. well the wwe has always been about newcomers and keeping things fresh (EXCEPT FOR CENA), back in the attitude era all those popular wrestlers were in their prime and weren’t comepletely new but were fresh faces and something different. and wrestling is the way it is today because of those wrestlers. IE shawn going through the table for the first time, bret putting his hands on vince after the cage match, austin doing the shoot promo for austin 316. if they hadn’t done those things we would be stuck with 80’s style wrestling. wrestling is just getting better and better and more improved. for some of u old heads watch back on those attitude era TAPES not dvd’s or blue-ray. and see the difference and how boring the wrestling actually was. smackdown was actually the better show and more action than raw. (not talking about smackdown after the draft) but now we’re getting the attitude era hopefully we get better wrestling cause we know the stories will be good. they even got the diva’s doing the stinkface again and eve was shaking(or trying) her ass. dolph ziggler got his new phrase and attitude def a good raw in my eyes.

one last thing- most of you guys are a bunch of hypocrites back when randy orton was beginning to turn into a good guy you all said he deserves to be the face of the wwe and he deserves to be the biggest star in wwe over cena now that he is all you guys say is he is another cena just stop it already cause he deserves to be where he is as does christian cena hhh undertaker miz cm punk rey ETC.

  • Matthew

Well, I can certainly understand why they did this:
1)Cena was the champ before last weeks ppv, and he wasn’t in the tournament, so the logical thing to do would be to put the belt on Mysterio, then Mysterio gives Cena the title shot, which by virtue of being the ex-champ, he’s entitled to a rematch anytime he wants.

2)Bringing back CM Punk with the belt, after Cena won the belt, gives us a possible title unification match for SummerSlam, which more than likely Cena will win.

3)Cena will probably lost it before Survior Series, and then that’s when the Cena/Rock fued heats up, which at Survivor Series, we will see Team Cena vs Team Bring It. Cena will win the belt back after that and then at WM 28 we will see Cena/Rock for the WWE Championship.

  • Jason

    @ Jon

I agree I think WWE is slowly drifting away with the PG era.

With the stuff Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres did pre match as well as things KK did during, Having Key Stone there, and even though this isnt WWE barely 1 minute into “Suits” after Raw a guy dropped “bullshit” which I could swear USA was against in terms of language.

  • MrCharisma

CM Punk’s theme fits him perfectly and is a badass theme, you don’t agree? must be a cena fan….*sigh*

  • Kris

To Kevin: So a newer Nexus, lol .. all seriousness, it woulda been awesome for that to happen

  • Joel

Cult of Personality for all the youngins that DONT HAVE A CLUE, is an EPIC song. I cant think of a better theme song for ANYBODY.

I didn’t realize until reading these comments that this used to be CM Punks theme. When I heard that come on and then see Punk come out, I was like HOLLLLYYYYY SH******T!!!! PERFECT!!!

One thing I don’t like is that they brought him back on TV so soon. I would’ve liked to see the whole thing play out off TV until at the very least Summerslam.

But you know what, for once I’m actually intrigued by storyline in WWE again.

  • RJ

ladder match like michales vs razor

  • poko

Cena is kind of poor at working with smaller guys. He botched or telegraphed a few of Rey’s spots, though the second half of the match was better.

Looks like the Age of Cena shall continue. He’ll become the Super Double World Champion and CM Punk will be reduced to feuding with JR and Lawler within a month.

  • Kris

To the people saying Punk beat him and has to face him again, what bout Christain doing the same thing to Orton? just asking…

  • BlahH

Rey’s title reign was shorter then Christian lol

  • Jimbo

The whole storyline and angle will be pointless if Punk loses at SummerSlam.

  • Kevin

CM Punks new music is sweet reminded me of the ECW themes. They must of hired new writers because the end of each show they hve us wanting more again even though I thin they dropped the ball on this angle. Would of loved too see all the new R.O.H guys they just signed all come out with Punk. More like an Invasion angle but oh well.

  • Mordecai

Hell Yeah. CM Punk is back… didn’t he use Cult of Personality in ROH?

  • B

    Ah good, fixed already.

  • Long Rod Von HugenDong

It is sad that they dropped the ball with this epic angle so fast… we’ll have to see where this goes

  • CenaSucks

Well that didnt take long to ruin did it.

8 days later Cena has the title and Punk, despite saying he was done is back 8 days later and now what, a champion vs champion match? Yeah that maikes sense Punk beats him a week ago and now has to beat him again ? Fucking joke

  • Seth

Bashing on Cult of Personality will not be tolerated. Aside from being an epic song, it fits Punk perfectly. He is the cult of personality.

  • Starship Pain

Cena should keep the belt glued to his waist… He will keep it until his dead or when someone with brain enter the highest ranks in WWE…

  • B

“Multiple personality?” – Seriously? I weep at the lack of music knowledge. 🙁

  • Jon

Punk used the theme because that was the music that Austin used for his HOF induction.

Welcome back and welcome the new era, now WWE need to get rid of PG rating.

  • Kevin

Now what??? Champ vs Champ at Summer Slam? They could of made this angle so much better. What does Punk have to accomplish by beating Cena again? He just beat him at M.I.T.B and there is no way they can have a better match.

  • FrankTheTank

Cult of Personality is an EPIC THEME. everyone can suck it.

  • Joe2

    Date: Jul 25, 2011 at 6:08 PM

Cult of Personality!!! Can only be CM Punk!!!

  • josh

Horrible horrible end to a great match. Punks music sucks. R-truth has better music than Punk. Also, stupid ending to the show

  • Howe

I hope Punk doesn’t permanently switch to this theme.

  • BigDckJohnson

all is right in the world now that the TRUE CHAMP is here!!

  • Seth

  • whocares

Cult of Personality!!! Can only be CM Punk!!!

  • Seth

Damn it! Took eight days for Cena to get the belt back.

  • BigDckJohnson

  • Howe

Really though? -_- Cena’s won the thing enough times. Let him work for it once in a while.

  • cakes

thinking the same thing as Howe…a heel cena vs face rey would be great

  • josh

    Not a bad match

  • Howe

TBH, this mysterio cena bout is not at all bad. STFU on Cena? lol

  • Howe

Did King really just say, prior to the 5knuckle shuffle, that he enjoyed the fact that Cena had NOT thrown one punch? Vince will not be happy!

  • FrankTheTank

Im tired of the Cena character as well but you have got to admit. Cena has been one of the biggest if not the biggest controversial superstar ever. Past superstars have been either 100% hated or 100% liked. Cena is both. Crazy stuff, but the WWE created that monster. He’s Frankenstein.

  • Long Rod Von HugenDong

I guess I am rooting for the lesser of two evils… Let’s go Rey

  • Kevin

I miss Jericho!!!! WWE has dropped the ball. No way Vince would’ve wet quietly.

  • Joe2

Jim Ross and Zack Ryder both back on Raw. Awesomeness!!

  • josh

If Cena broke his arm legit, he wouldn’t sell it

  • adam

@BigDickJohnson. If he breaks his arm then cena will just wreslte with one arm becuase nothing stops him. Not being “fired” caus the next night after nexus fired him he was there every single show. And miz was right. I for one was exicted to see hhh back because i thought things would be different but no cena still gets the wwe handed to him on a silver plater.

  • Kevin

Wow they basically just had a 10 minute break and commercials besides Miz’s interview and Mysterio’s entrance. Horrible scheduling.

  • BigDckJohnson

i hope del rio comes down, cashes in on cena after he wins, and breaks his arm with the arm bar!

  • Kevin

What about the anonymous G.M?? The stand and the computer is still there. Man the Miz is on fire.

  • Kevin

Its 10:40 that means they will be wrestling this title match by 10:45… No wy they are gonna wrestle till 11:10..Something better be brewing here.

  • Long Rod Von HugenDong

@adam, I was thinking the exact same thing. For some reason, I cannot stand the corny character that John Cena is now, he really needs a heel turn or at least become a different kind of face.

And I hope they don’t drop the ball with the Punk storyline

  • Idk

What’s everyones deal with hating cena? Seems like the more he does for the fans the more everyone hates him? I like zack ryder but it’s only a matter of time before u all hate him too….lol

  • BlahH

    Starship Pain
    lucky guess on my part
    woo woo woo

So not the reaction I thought Ryder would get. Speaking of which, what was the point of that match?

Cena really? Can you just stop and go away for a month. Just one month please

  • cakes

i was wondering who the hell the wwe would have face cole considering kofi, rey, cena, morrison, and bourne were already booked. Completely marked out when ryder came out. Guess HHH really listened to punk at that comic show

  • Starship Pain

1.- Cena will win but then Alberto Del Rio will cash, and then there’s a Summerslam rematch…

2.- Mysterio retains and then Del Rio cash in… And somehow Cena will be in a match for the title against Del Rio and maybe Mysterio in SS

By the way, BlahH, you’re the man

  • Kevin

ZACK RYDER!!!! Too piped in fake Goldberg chants..

  • JBL

    Lets all reJoice Rydddddddddddddddddddddder

  • josh

  • adam

@longrodvonhugendong—HELL YEAH HELL YEAH HELL YEA. I was hoping for cm punk to be the one resigned or miz to win the title but no they had to give the title to rey and now cena or rey is our champion thats great.

  • whocares

sigh. does anybody like starship pain? did he actually hit it this time?
Hopefully Michael Cole will be fighting Beth Phoenix.

  • Long Rod Von HugenDong

If you are sick of having Super Cena always finding a way to be the champ giveme a HELL YEAH!

  • BlahH

    cole vs ryder????

  • DuffManLovesHimSomeWrestling

    @Stevie P
He has been using the sleeper for awhile but I agree with you, hope they don’t repackage him. The failed with the new hair, now he looks generic. Just let Ziggler be Ziggler, it is working for him.

  • PLW

U win the championship just so u can drop all in one night. Poor REY!!!

  • Greatness

    Yes JR!!

No!! Cena is going to be champ and Del Rio will cash in.

  • whocares

knew it wouldn’t be punk. But JR is way better than xpac

  • josh

NO NO NO NO NO GOD NO Please no. Not a match with John Cena

  • Effmenow

  • Effmenow

    This crowd is on drugs.

    CENA SUCKS. lol

  • drizzt

Please pop that kid out, Kong, we need you back. Eve looks like an American gladiator reject.

  • Greatness

Keith Stone has been the best part of Raw. Maybe there is hope because I actually liked that segment.

  • Stevie P

Ugh Rey as champ and they didn’t change the belt. So lame. Also, Ziggler’s new finish is the sleeper and not the Zig Zag and his theme song is changed? Are they trying to re-invent him? I hope not.

  • josh

I would love to see Bourne win

  • Greatness

I hope Cena doesn’t get the first title shot. That would be the worst thing they could do.

  • V-R-A

  • Kevin

Come on WWE dont drop the ball!!!

  • whocares

wait. It actually looks worse. It’s flat, and looks cheaper than the replicas that you can buy.

  • whocares

It’s the same stupid ugly belt??

  • Jon

They just bought a the toy agian

  • adam

    Same crappy title belt
