WWE RAW Results – December 20th

– Tonight’s WWE RAW kicks off with Justin Roberts introducing our WWE Champion, The Miz. The music hits and out comes The Miz without Alex Riley. CM Punk and Jerry Lawler are on commentary, no Michael Cole yet. Miz hits the ring and the crowd boo’s him. Miz talks about how he is still the WWE Champion and rubs it in everyone’s face. Miz says he put Randy Orton through a table last night. Creepy music starts playing and out comes Alex Riley, dressed as the Ghost of Christmas Past. Riley points us to the big screen and shows a clip of Miz beating Jerry Lawler on RAW a few weeks back.

 


 

Miz talks about beating a WWE Hall of Famer and making sure he will never be WWE Champion, referring to Lawler. Miz says he doesn’t regret anything. The music hits again and out comes Michael Cole, dressed as the Ghost of Christmas Present. Cole the ghost says Miz should be ashamed for his actions at TLC. Miz says the only thing that matters is he’s still WWE Champion. Miz holds up the WWE Title and says here’s an image to put on our Christmas cards. The music hits again and Angry Miz Girl flashes on the big screen. They make her mouth move and it’s the Ghost of Christmas Future. The ghost tells Miz to see the light and change his ways or the new #1 contender John Morrison will beat him. The Miz isn’t hearing it. He says he’s awesome but is interrupted by John Morrison.

John Morrison comes to the ring and calls everything we just saw stupid. Morrison says he is happy for Miz’s success because last night, he beat Sheamus to become the new #1 contender, which means sometime soon they are going to fight for the WWE Title. Morrison says he’s beat Miz in the past and he knows he can beat him in the future. Really, really, really, really, really?, asks The Miz. Miz says he has always been better than Morrison. Alex Riley shoves Morrison. Morrison comes back and attacks Riley, sending Miz running to the outside. Sheamus runs down and attacks Morrison. They go at it until Sheamus takes out his knee and goes to work. For some reason, Riley gets into it with Jerry Lawler at ringside. Lawler decks Riley and lays him out. Miz and Riley flee until the e-mail alert from the RAW General Manager goes off. It’s announced that tonight’s main event will be The Miz, Alex Riley and Sheamus vs. John Morrison, Jerry Lawler and Randy Orton. The Miz hears this and starts mouthing off on the stage. He turns around to a big clothesline from Randy Orton, who ran out from the back.

– Cole plugs John Cena’s address to the WWE Universe tonight as we go to commercial.

#1 Contenders Triple Threat Match: Melina vs. Alicia Fox vs. Eve Torres

We come back and WWE Divas Champion Natalya is on commentary. Out first comes Melina, followed by Alicia Fox and then Eve Torres to crown a new #1 contender. The bell rings and they go at it. Alicia takes control of the match first, going back and forth. Alicia dumps Eve out of the ring and goes back to work on Melina. Melina turns it around and nails Alicia with two knees to the back on the ropes. Eve comes over and gets in the mix. Melina rolls her up for a 2 count. And another. Alicia comes over and tolls Eve up for 2. Alicia counters a move from Melina and powerbombs her. 2 count by Alicia. Eve kicks Alicia in the mouth and clotheslines h er. Moonsault by Eve for a 2 count. Eve goes to the top but Melina goes up with her and they go at it. Alicia gets Melina on her shoulders. Eve dives at them but Melina turns it into a roll-up on Alicia for the pin and the win.

Winner and New #1 Contender: Melina

– After the match, Natalya comes in the ring to congratulate Melina. Natalya extends her hand but Melina just slaps her in the face. Melina alks off looking pissed.

– We see The Bella Twins backstage talking about each of their connection with Daniel Bryan. The WWE United States Champion walks up and they take his arm. Bryan and the Bellas head to the ring for a match as we go to commercial.

– Back from commercial and Cole notes that Nexus won’t be here on RAW tonight after what happened at TLC last night.

Daniel Bryan vs. William Regal

We go to the ring and out comes WWE’s United States Champion Daniel Bryan with The Bella Twins. Out next comes his opponent and former trainer/mentor, William Regal. The bell rings and they lock up. They go back and forth from their feet to the mat to start the match. Bryan hits a dropkick. They lock up again and this time Regal kicks Bryan in the back a few times. Bryan responds with right hands and nasty kicks to the back of his own. Bryan unloads on Regal in the corner.

Regal takes Bryan down this time with a hard shot and gets another 2 count. Regal with a chinlock. Bryan breaks out of it and scoop slams Regal. Regal holds on and arm drags Bryan, turning it into a 2 count. Regal with right hands on the mat and another 2 count. Knees to the face now by Regal. Regal whips Bryan into the corner and hits a running clothesline for another 2 count. Regal applies a Full Nelson now but Bryan fights out. They trade European uppercuts. Bryan gets the upperhand after the 10th or more uppercut. Bryan goes for a backslide but Regal just punches him in the back of the head and goes for a submission.

More back and forth action from their feet to the mat here. Bryan counters Regal and locks on the LaBell Lock to get the submission and the win.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

– After the match, Regal applauds Bryan and The Bella Twins come in the ring. One Bella kisses Bryan on the cheek and the other kisses him on the lips. Bryan is dazed and has lipstick on him.

– Back from commercial and John Morrison is backstage. Randy Orton walks in and they talk about TLC. Orton says if Morrison wins his WWE Title match against Miz, he is coming after him. Morrison says if that happens, he will be ready. Morrison says he trusts Orton will be ready also. Orton says that’s Morrison’s first mistake – do not trust him.

– We see Santino Marella laying on his back in his room. Tamina is standing on his back working out the kinks. Maryse walks in and gets into it with Tamina. She stands on Santino’s back also and yells in her face. Vladimir Kozlov and Ted DiBiase run in, pulling the girls off Santino and that’s it.

– We see Mark Henry and Gail Kim talking about how much better RAW is tonight without Nexus. Vickie Guerrero and the WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler walk by, Vickie says “Excuse me” and it ruins Henry’s good mood. We go to commercial.

Santino Marella and Tamina vs. Ted DiBiase and Maryse

Back from the break and out comes Santino Marella and Tamina for some mixed tag team action. Out next is the team of Maryse and Ted DiBiase. Ted and Santino lock up with Santino taking Ted down first. Ted gets angry and unloads on Santino with right hands. Ted with a clothesline and a 2 count. Ted hits a dropkick for another 2 count. Santino makes a comeback and hits the headbutt. He goes for the Cobra but Ted rolls out of the ring and in comes Maryse. She slaps Santino but turns around to a big kick in the face from Tamina. Ted and Santino end up on the floor while Tamina goes to the top rope. Tamina hits the Superfly splash on Maryse for the pin and the win.

Winners: Tamina and Santino Marella

– We see John Cena, who is in a great mood tonight, backstage giving flowers to a production girl. He’s heading the ring and we go to commercial.

– Back from commercial and out comes John Cena to a big pop. Cena says tonight is epic and the crowd is extra fired up. Cena goes to ringside and hugs the “We Hate Cena” guy, some fan with a shirt on that says that. Cena hops back in the ring and dances around. showing he’s in a good mood. Cena feels like singing and does. Cena shows us a replay of how he made the strand of chairs fall on Wade Barrett at the end of TLC. We see the spot from two more camera angles and in slow motion. Cena says it took him some time but finally he got to each member of Nexus. Cena says the winds have changed for Barrett and Nexus so now he can focus on bigger things, like winning the Royal Rumble and going to WrestleMania. Vickie Guerrero asks everyone to excuse her as she interrupts with Dolph Ziggler. They head to the ring.

Vickie reminds John that he was not the only person to win last night at the pay per view. John gets a good laugh at the way that the fans treat Vickie Guerrero by booing her so loud that she cannot talk.

John begs the fans not to drown out Vickie, but they do not listen and John is still laughing uncontrollably.

Vickie has some footage of Dolph’s match since John got to show his footage. Instead of footage from last night’s Intercontinental Title match, we get Jerry Lawler’s comments to Vickie Guerrero last week on Raw during the Slammys.

Vickie demands an apology from Lawler or Dolph will beat him up.

Jerry wants to know if it is about her weight. Jerry says that Vickie is the only Diva whose bathtub has stretch marks. Cena and Lawler continue to roast Vickie.

Dolph says that Vickie is a saint and she is the most respected Diva in the WWE.

John asks Dolph why he said that Vickie was a double bagger. Then he says that Dolph used to be afraid of the dark, but after being with Vickie, he is afraid of the light. Vickie slaps Cena and then the dingy dingy goes off and Cole gets to read.

Since Vickie is threatening people that Dolph will beat people up. Dolph will face John Cena tonight.

John Cena versus Dolph Ziggler with Vickie Guerrero

They lock up and Ziggler with a waist lock and take down into a front face lock. Cena escapes and Ziggler backs away. They lock up again and Cena with a side head lock take down. Ziggler gets to the ropes and Cena releases the hold. Ziggler with a kick and punch to Cena and Cena goes to the mat. Ziggler with kicks to Cena and the referee warns him. Ziggler punches Cena but Cena with an Irish whip and bulldog for a near fall. Ziggler goes to the apron for a breather. Cena blocks a kick but Cena with a suplex and he gets a near fall. Cena with an Irish whip but he misses a charge into the corner. Ziggler with kicks to Cena and he punches him in the head. Ziggler with a hard Irish whip and a near fall. Ziggler with punches to Cena and he staggers on his feet. Ziggler finally sends Cena to the mat and Ziggler gets a near fall. Ziggler with a kick to the midsection. Cena with a knee and a gutwrench suplex for a near fall. Ziggler with a kick to the chest and Ziggler with another near fall. Ziggler with a reverse chin lock as he gets Cena weakened for the sleeper. Cena gets to his feet and he gets Ziggler on his shoulders but Ziggler escapes and he hits an X Factor and gets a near fall.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Cena punches Ziggler and he hits a side slam and both men are down. Ziggler and Cena both hit clotheslines and both men are down again as the referee starts his count. Ziggler with a kick and jawbreaker to Cena and he gets a near fall. Ziggler waits for Cena to get up and he hits a standing drop kick and gets another near fall. Ziggler tries for another drop kick but Cena sees it coming and moves out of the way. Cena with the two flying shoulder tackles followed by the Blue Thunder Bomb and then it is time for the Legendary Sequence to finish with the Five Knuckle Shuffle.

Cena waits for Ziggler to get up for the Attitude Adjustment but Ziggler escapes and he puts Cena in the sleeper. Cena with a snap mare to escape and then Cena puts Ziggler in the STF and Ziggler tries to fight out of it. Ziggler taps but Vickie distracts the referee and did not hear the tap or see it.

Ziggler with a Fameasser but he only gets a two count. Ziggler thinks of what to do and he exposes the turnbuckle while Cena is with the referee. The referee stops Ziggler and Ziggler tries to hit Cena with the belt. Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment for the three count.

Winner: John Cena

After the match, CM Punk comes into the ring and he hits John Cena with a chair and leaves the ring.

Cena is not in a good mood any more as he looks at the stage and wonders what just happened.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we have a Moments Ago Moment of the final moments of the match between John Cena and Dolph Ziggler.

Josh Mathews tries to get a word from CM Punk outside the arena. Punk says that Cena only understands aggression. Punk gave Cena a taste of his own medicine. Punk drives away.

Jerry Lawler is getting ready and Sheamus stops him. Sheamus tells the fella that he is still carrying around his old battered crown. Sheamus says that he earned his crown and there is only room for one king.

Lawler says that he has been the king since 1974.

Sheamus says that tonight the King is dead.

Vickie is yelling at Dolph and she says that she was looking for an apology. Dolph says that he is challenging John Cena to a rematch on Smackdown tomorrow night. Vickie says that she will make it happen and it will be a handicap match. John Cena will face Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero. Dolph does not look too happy any more.

We are back and Did You Know that Smackdown vs. Raw has outsold a lot of video games.

So we don’t have a one man booth, Michael Cole is joined by Josh ‘Tomorrow night I can say Last night and not be wrong’ Mathews.

Alex Riley, The Miz, and Sheamus versus Jerry Lawler, John Morrison, and Randy Orton

Orton and Miz start things off but Riley tags in and gets to face Orton. Orton with a kick and then he sends Riley into the turnbuckles and connects with a few European uppercuts. Orton with a knee drop and he tags in Morrison. Morrison kicks Riley and punches him. Morrison with an Irish whip and running clothesline into the corner followed by an uppercut. Morrison with a kick and punches. Lawler tags in and he kicks Riley and then he punches Riley and hits a drop kick. Riley punches Lawler and connects with an elbow.

Miz tags in and he kicks Lawler in the chest and tries for a punch but Lawler blocks it and punches Miz. Orton tags back in and Miz goes to the floor. Miz runs through the ring and he tags in Sheamus.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Riley punches Lawler while Sheamus deals with the referee. Sheamus gets a near fall. Sheamus with an arm bar on Lawler. Sheamus with a knee and Irish whip but he misses a charge into the corner and Sheamus hits the post with his shoulder. Morrison tags in and hits a clothesline followed by a leg lariat and Morrison appears to have reinjured his knee. Sheamus with an Irish whip and he misses a charge into the corner. Morrison with a springboard round kick to Morrison. Morrison knocks Riley off the apron. Sheamus crotches Morrison and Morrison lands hard. Miz tags in and connects with elbow drops to the leg. Miz kicks Morrison and then tags Sheamus back into the match.

Sheamus with an elbow drop to the leg and then he works on the knee. Morrison escapes the hold and Riley tags in and stops Morrison from making the tag. Riley works on the knee and slams it into the mat. Riley kicks Morrison and the referee warns him when they get into the ropes. Morrison tries to make the tag but Riley pulls him into his corner. Miz tags in and he kicks Morrison in the hamstring and then knees him. Miz continues to work on the leg but Morrison propels Miz over the top rope to the floor with his other leg. Miz with an elbow drop to prevent the tag from being made. Sheamus tags back in and he kicks Morrison in the chest.

Sheamus with forearms across the chest and gets a near fall. Sheamus returns to the knee and Morrison tries to fight out with kicks and he tries for an enzuigiri and he glances Sheamus. Sheamus with an elbow drop and then he puts Morrison in a modified camel clutch. Sheamus with a single leg crab and Morrison tries to make the tag. Lawler distracts the referee and Orton attacks Sheamus.

Sheamus knocks Lawler off the apron before returning to Morrison. Morrison with an enzuigiri and both men are down. Miz and Orton tag in and Orton with clotheslines. Orton with a power slam and then he hits an Olympic Slam and then it is time for the IEDDT on Miz and hits it.

Orton gets a near fall but Sheamus breaks up the cover. Morrison sends Sheamus over the top rope to the floor. Orton with the RKO push ups and Miz gets to his feet but Orton gives an RKO to Riley. Miz kicks Orton and Lawler punches Miz. Miz tries for the Skull Crushing Finale but Orton with the RKO to Miz and Lawler gets the three count.

Winners: Jerry Lawler, Randy Orton, and John Morrison

We have a dingy dingy noise and Michael Cole assumes the position. The television show Smackdown will be live tomorrow night on USA. In addition to the Smackdown Superstars, Raw will contribute a handicap match. Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero will face John Cena. There will also be Miz will face Randy Orton.

Orton tries to power bomb Miz but Riley interferes and Randy punches Riley. Miz escapes to the stage and we go to credits.
