Major Spoiler For This Thursday’s Episode Of Impact Wrestling

Sting defeated Mr. Anderson at tonight’s Impact Wrestling taping in Orlando, Florida to reclaim the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Sting lost the strap last month at Slammiversary IX, following outside interference from Eric Bischoff. He invoked his rematch clause for this Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling, which is being branded as “A Midsummer’s Nightmare.”

The victory marks as Sting’s fifth World Heavyweight Championship reign in TNA Wrestling, and fifteenth overall.

TNA throwing the title around as usual.

hogan can barely walk. i don’t think hogan and all his back issues can even go anymore in ring. hogan is going to end up in wheelchair.

  • adam

@bill no they dont because cm punk is about to be gone and they will be left with the orton and cena lovefest over and over and over again.I used to like anderson back in wwe when he was MR.Kennedy. But in tna i dont know the hole anderson thing doesnt work with his enterance its to long of a last name. ALso he is a buyable midcard champion but i dont think i really buy him as the brands Top Champion.

  • Agreed Anderson is Trash.

  • Marky Mark

Anderson is garbage anyway, no big deal.

  • Bill

Wow, this is so stupid. Hogan vs. Sting for the, what, billionth time? Now WWE knows what it’s doing with storylines. CM Punk = gold.

  • adam

This will lead to a hogan title reign i am willing to bet anything on it. IT will be one of the longest reigns in recent tna history too.

Tom c…well at least 50 year old men arent holding the world titles. So theres still hope for that. I use to be a huge sting mark but hopefully he dosnt lose the title to Hogan or Flair that would definitely kill Tna. Hopefully he has a nice little title reign and drops it to a young guy and retires.

Damien … as if the WWE and/or meaningless World Title title doesn’t change hands every other month or so, right?

LONG GONE are the days when a wrestling organization’s champion(s) were seen/revered as virtually unbeatable (i.e. Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, hell, even The Honky Tonk Man (for the 16+ months they kept the IC strap on him). Things like this – things that made professional wrestling GREAT once – are the kinds of things that are sorely missing within today’s pro-wrestling writing/programming.

Not to mention any kind of meaningful Tag Team Divisions, or the once respected stature of the Intercontinental Title or U.S. Title or even the Television Champion (e.g. when Steve Austin held in in WCW).

This is a little disappointing for a few reasons. 1) I find Sting’s Joker impression to be both embarrassing and lazy. 2) Anderson seems like a marketable face for the company but had his push demoted by the Destination X ppv. 3) I have a bad feeling this will somehow lead to a Hogan title reign.

  • Damien Phoenix

The World Title in TNA changes so many times it’s not even funny anymore just annoying.

  • Matthew Carter

I’m not surprised by this, it’s all part of the Sting/Hulk Hogan story-line, in which those two will end up facing each other for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

  • Rucdogg

YESSSSSSSS! Sting is the man! Here he is 20 years later still winning world titles, putting on great matches and taking the ball and running with it.

  • Sting is almost up their with Flair ! ! ! ! !

  • adam

wow Mr.Anderson has as much luck with the TNA title as christian does with the World title

  • Effmenow

Way to spoil this shit! Well hopefully it was a well planned out match that delivered. Will be watching Impact!
