Michelle McCool and Layla tease a LayCool reunion for WWE

The WWE recently revealed the return of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, a championship that hadn’t been seen since back in 1989. The final champions before the titles were retired were Leilani Kai and Judy Martin, the Glamour Girls.

While Vince McMahon announced that the titles would be brought back on the Christmas Eve edition of Monday Night Raw, the WWE waited until this week to unveil the titles and revealed that the new champions would be decided in an Elimination Chamber match.

While the WWE Universe immediately began wondering who would step up to participate in the match, former Diva’s Champion Michelle McCool was asked if she and Layla would return to be a part of the women’s tag team division.

Layla was the final WWE Women’s Champion before the belt was retired, with McCool working as the unofficial co-champion. McCool retired in 2011, while Layla continued to compete until 2015. McCool did take part in the Women’s Royal Rumble match and a battle royal at WWE Evolution.
