Miller Vs. Kennedy Will Not Take Place On March 5th Strikeforce Card

Earlier this month, it was reported that a rubber match was in the works between Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Tim Kennedy. The potential third meeting between the two middleweight fighters has been pulled from Strikeforce’s March event set to take place in Columbus, Ohio.

No specific reason was given for the change in the card, however spokesperson Mike Afromowitz said the matchup never had been signed in the first place.

The middleweight bout would have been Kennedy’s first fight since his unanimous decision loss to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza back in August and Jason “Mayhem” Miller’s first fight since his armbar submission win over Kazushi Sakuraba back in September.

The March 5 event, tentatively dubbed “Strikeforce: Columbus,” takes place at Nationwide Arena as part of Strikeforce’s Ohio debut. The night’s main card, including a headliner between light-heavyweight champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante and notable Dan Henderson, airs on Showtime.
